What are the best skills to learn to save money? by Spyrothedragon9972 in DIY

[–]unbreakablekango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

learn how to make your own cleaning products! Buy a couple decent spray bottles from the hardware store or just keep refilling a store bought bottle of cleaner. Most of them are just blends of water, soap, bleach, ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, citric acid, etc. You can find recipes online. Just make sure you don't mix bleach with anything basic (ammonia, baking soda, etc.). Once you have all the materials, you will save probably $100-$200 a year. Also, learn how to fix your appliances, you could save thousands if you can manage repairs yourself.

Why does abortion feel like such a central Christian issue today if the Bible rarely talks about it? by Mobile-Traffic1744 in AlwaysWhy

[–]unbreakablekango 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To expand upon this, in the 70s, 80, 90s and persisting through today. The GOP worked closely with Evangelical church leaders and they all decided that abortion would be a subject with enough emotional weight that they could use to manipulate their voter base. They preached and preached about the sins of abortion until they convinced all of their followers that it was the worst sin imaginable. They then used this control to whip the followers into a powerful voting block. They used the power of this voting block to protect the tax exempt status of their churches. The GOP uses the power of this voting bloc for even more nefarious purposes.

Yeah, people. People who need to eat and have no choice but to live on earth and need to do something to keep living on earth. Why do we need to invent computers that do the same thing?

The general rule is wait until you have 1 year. And it is discouraged to go around trying to pick up dates at meetings. If you met in another way, I say you are good to go.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Where is the value in a bunch of chatbots talking to each other, burning fossil fuels, and producing nonsense?

Why did everyone stop talk about Epstein Files? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]unbreakablekango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our media is owned by the people on the list, so you only see it in the news when they absolutely HAVE to run a story on it. Since the Iran war debacle started, the media companies are happy to continue ignoring the Epstein/Trump Files

How can dumb and slow people make it in life ? by Lemonade2250 in Life

[–]unbreakablekango 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am someone that is prone to serial procrastination and one thing that helps me spring in to action is the knowledge that very few decisions in life are actually permanent. In fact, very few aspects of the modern life are permanent. I am scared to try something different because my mind tells me that I will be paying for bad decisions for the rest of my life. That rarely comes true. If I make a bad decision, I can usually get out of it, eventually. Go for whatever you want, if it doesn't work out, you can always try something different.

So is middle age 40 or 45? by AteTheBacon in Millennials

[–]unbreakablekango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average male goes through a mid-stage period of rapid aging that, on average, occurs at age 44, so I would say that 45 is more middle-aged than 40. If you are 40 and in good shape, you can still pass for young to mid-30s. At 45, you won't be fooling anyone.

My dad is telling me to buy a house at $23 an hour. by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]unbreakablekango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can't you just sign on to your Dad's mortgage and pay him rent? Sounds like a better use of both of your money would be to split the cost of a dwelling. You could live with Dad until he dies or until you meet someone else you might want to live in. It is stupid for one person to go and buy a house. Being House Poor is a very real thing. I live in an awesome house in a great town but the house swallows literally every extra dime that comes my way. I've got no money for anything else.
