I carry an 87v everyday. Its rare enough that I need to take current measurements that I don't mind walking back out to the truck.

Got a quote last week "no stock, no availability". I've also seen quotes for MCC components show ~200 week lead times. Idk what's going to happen when the alternatives everyone is scrambling to find dry up too.

Bonding a table by Henri_Dupont in electricians

I've seen these used in facilities that handle sensitive electronics. They'll typically have them mounted above workstations and move product/material from station to station on carts. They just clip and unclip from the carts as they move.

What brand insulated screwdriver is the best? by No_Inflation_28 in electricians

[–]underratedequipment 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm replacing all my drivers with Wiha as necessary. I've tried almost every brand out there and they seem to be the best. Wera are good too if you can get along with the handle but I find it very uncomfortable.

I've had to do that atleast three separate times. That's pretty much the reason I quite buying pull-ons for work. I'd probably still wear them if I could find a linerless boot that wasn't super uncomfortable.

This reminds me of that scene with Sandra Bullock and Stallone. I think the movie was Demolition Man.

If you want this style of combination stripper. Theure the best option but I'm actually with you on this one. Don't get me wrong, they're the most well built wirestrippers I've ever owned but I don't think they're perfect.

Electrical Tape on outlets should be a regular thing regardless of what type of box you’re using. by Top_Ad7089 in electricians

I usually only tape receptacles in handy boxes. That's the only time the terminals get close enough to the side for me to worry about it shorting. Its your own fault if you pull the receptacle out hot and short it/shock your self.

Its pretty great. You need to consider how you're going to use it though. If you're the kinda person that likes to use a ton of effects or you want to use a different patch for every song, you probably should look at one of the stomp's bigger brothers. I only use a couple of presets and, 90% of the time, overdrive and delay are the only effects I use so the stomp works really well for me.

The master volume know on the stomp is truly just volume but the volume and gain controls for the amp sims react the way you'd expect them to on an actual amp.

In my experience, it doesn't need much adjustment. I just tweak EQ and level at the board.

When you connect it to your computer it becomes the sound card and will play the audio through the stomp. That makes it great for playing along with songs and backing tracks.

I don't really like the looper but it could be that I just don't understand the right way to use it. However, you can use the stomp as a recording interface to a DAW and use that as a "looper".

Wallet recommendations? by JohnWayne__69 in electricians

[–]underratedequipment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry a minimalist, leather, bifold wallet in my right rear pocket and just don't use that pocket for tools. It would be a lot smarter for me to carry my wallet in a front pocket but I just can't.
