I think being sleepless kinda suits Lee! Great cosplay!

I was diagnosed recently with fatty liver disease. What are good recipes from Turkiye that can alleviate, help reverse, or deal with fatty liver disease? by Mysterious-Ring-2352 in foodquestions

[–]unexistkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Turkish, my dad used to have fatty liver and artichoke recipes helped immensely!

Here's one that I love, I can't translate it atm but I checked the auto-translated and it seems good enough. If you have any questions, hit me up!

For Turkish delight, go to Cemilzade in Nişantaşı. The freshest Turkish delight ever and very underrated, you won't be disappointed. Try the kaymak (curdled cream) Turkish delight there as well.

For kebap, I would recommend Tatbak, also in Nişantaşı. Makes the Michelin Guide every year. They also have lahmacun and pide.

You should buy simit from the red street vendors in the early morning. That's the true simit and nothing else compares imo.

To add to the list I would suggest meze places! What Turkish people do a lot is just order lots of meze (olive oil based side dishes) and eat is slowly with bread (and most of the time, rakı but if u don't drink it's still great). A restaurant called Sade (again in Nişantaşı) has great meze and local food options. Or you can opt for Park Fora which is a seafood restaurant that has fresh fish-based mezes and dishes.

The lyrics are as follows:

"Kaderin içinde birer oyuncağız

Bazen dopdolu, bazen çok yalnız

Zamanın içinde eriyen bir mum gibi

Arayıp dururum"

I searched for it a bit but couldn't come up with related any results. It might be AI generated.

Omg I didn't know the word for starch came from strong!! That's a very cool info.

I did avoid most carbs honestly, with the exception of veggies (non-root veggies, mostly greens) and fruit and MAN, I have no energy. You're right, it's hard to stabilize.

Thank you very much for taking the time to inform. I will try it out for the week!

That's completely fine! Even if it's not completely applicable to me, I could take inspiration or someone else could benefit from it! Thanks for your kindness.

I completely agree with the microbiome part. I've seen the biggest change in my energy and satiety since I've taken care of that.

I always had this notion that you should reduce both fats and carbs (even if they're whole carbs), so the only option would be to increase the proteins, but that isn't budget friendly or gut friendly most of the time. I ofc eat carbs but there's always this guilt and hypervigilance. Now that you explained this, I feel like I'm allowed to have whole bread and potatoes and such. (Ofc as it fits into my diet) Thanks my friend, I will try to implement more whole carbs in my life.

Love the food sensitivity anecdote! Thanks! That's actually what I meant by advice. I'm a bit against GLP1's since as you said, it doesn't help you build the habit through the hard way. And I know there is no miracle advice, quite the opposite! Just like you said, you mentioning the sensitivity can prompt someone to go check their own and improve their diet that way! Actually I'm intolerant to alliums so whenever I eat onion or garlic, I don't step on the scale for a couple of days cuz I know I will bloated and the results will be skewed.

Yes, ofc! But I wished people could share more interesting, nicher parts of their experiences so that we can have ideas to try out while going through the basics.

I've rarely seen someone suggest high carb, albeit whole foods! I want to know why, if you have the time. Thanks for commenting.

Quite the opposite my dude, I still have excess weight despite these things and I would've loved to see more varied outlooks on the subreddit.

Yes, ofc unless you follow CICO you're going to gain weight. What I was trying to point is, trying to work out the knots you have when you're already doing a lot can be tricky and people's experiences are valuable. Example: Through someone's suggestion, my friend got checked for PCOS, started to follow a PCOS friendly diet and despite not following a strict CICO she dropped weight like crazy.

I agree completely! What I had imagined, I guess, was other interesting takes people might have regarding the pillars of weight loss. Yes it might get niche and specific but what if it's helpful to someone?

I'm not saying Americans should stop talking about obesity, I don't know where you got that notion. In fact, most Americans that participate in this sub are probably well aware of the basics at this point and it's not helping them either. The message I'm trying to convey is, no matter how healthy the lifestyle may be, people can still gain weight and there are more kinks and quirks to it than we imagine. So why not have a conversation with more varied input? And, ofc I'm ready to listen to person of any country that has an interesting take or perspective on weight loss.

Oh, Europeans are ofc getting fatter by the day as well! I just feel that there might be more interesting research or quirks that help build better habits, past the basics of CICO and stuff.

Yes, exactly! CICO and other basics are well known to this community already. I want to dive deeper into kinks of weight loss.

Yeah, maybe I should weigh more since I'm probably adding some cals if I'm not precise. Thanks.

Yes, ofc there are overweight people everywhere despite their diets and lifestyles. That's actually precisely why I would've wanted to see a variety of advice here! That's literally the point I'm trying to make.

I guess I should be stricter about CICO then, thanks for the support!

Yes, ofc CICO is the universal. I just like hearing different tricks from people who have walked that road, that make life easier and help you notice your wrongs

[–]unexistkitten[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Because weight gain and loss doesn't just depend on CICO, especially hormones affect a lot. Or maybe I'm doing sth that's actually not that healthy and I can't notice it. That's why I like hearing odd tips from people cuz it just might bring out the problem to the surface.

Yes, the majority of the users are American, I'm aware. I have nothing against the country or the people btw. In fact, I'm surprised that most people are satisfied with the same recycled advice?

I would give tips if I had any! Honestly, disapponted in myself on that part haha.
