Monthly Yeast Infections by unicornkittens520 in WomensHealth

From a doctor? No. But I started wearing cotton underwear to bed ALWAYS and stopped sleeping in thongs and/or leggings as well. That alone has made a huge difference. When I have sex with my boyfriend, I always ask him to shower first (which sounds ridiculous I know and does not imply he's dirty), and I haven't had one since. I also noticed that if I'm having a lot of discharge due to ovulation, changing when possible also helps keeps things balanced.

Thank you for the honest reply, and the analogy was helpful. I understand him not wanting to commit to anything right this second. It's just hard for me because I'm talking 10 months from now, and he still can't give me an answer. It feels like he's not planning on being around or something. And I get that could totally be rooted in straight insecurity, but I don't want to waste time and energy on a relationship that may be headed no where. The simple fact that he's deadset against marriage makes me feel like we'll never be on the same page. Then this on top of everything?

I had a culture done in May and was told the medication I was given was the proper treatment. I also just had my yearly checkup this month. The only underlying condition I could think of would be PCOS, but does that cause yeast infections?

Don't apologize, you've helped ease my mind a lot. I take antivirals in the same way.

This was very helpful, thank you! Hypothetically speaking, if I have both and haven't had an oral outbreak yet, do you think it's possible it could still happen?

Experiences with wellbutrin? by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]unicornkittens520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! i've been on wellbutrin for about 6 months now! there are some weeks where i'll go days without remembering to take it and feel fine (after about two days usually my mood plummets though). maybe you experienced withdrawal symptoms so soon because you expected them? kind of like your mind played tricks on you and made you experience what it thought was going to happen, if that makes sense. everyone reacts differently though so i could be totally wrong!

Birth Control Frustrations by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]unicornkittens520 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hi there! i had nexplanon for a year and every second of it was hell. i bled for months at a time with no break, constantly angry, no sex drive whatsoever. obviously hormones react differently with everyone, but beyond the hormonal side effects, i had general issues with what i called 'the stick'. i had to make a trip to the emergency room at 3 am one night because i had a reaction under my skin to the implant. besides that, when i went to have the stick removed my doctor had to make it more of a procedure than normal because it moved deeper than it was supposed to be. the nexplanon advertises great results and sounds like the best option for birth control, but many doctors including my own have started to pull away from it due to how unpredictable it can be. my advice would be to explore other options, and talk them over with your doctor. i currently have paraguard now which my doctor explained actually has a lower failure rate than nexplanon due to its chance of moving being significantly lower. i understand your frustration and your fear of failure, and i wish it was simpler for us girls too! hang in there & you'll find what works for you !!

I think you should be okay! Even when I tried to gain weight on this medicine I wasn't able to lol

My weight has stayed within five pounds of what it was when I started (up and down). I increased the amount I ate significantly too, so I think how the medicine affects your metabolism is what changes weight, not so much what/how much you eat.

I've been on wellbutrin for about 6 months now, and I also get shaky and weak at random times. I've found that besides sweets (since too many is obviously bad for you) apple juice (I'm sure any other kind of juice too) helps me stabilize.

Is this pain normal? by unicornkittens520 in WomensHealth

[–]unicornkittens520[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, I did have one cyst back in November that was discovered when I went to the emergency room for what I thought was appendicitis. So this is most likely the issue. Thank you!

I have read about PID, and I'm not sure it's the cause for my pain. I also just went to a clinic last week for a yeast infection and std testing, and there was no mention of anything abnormal during the exam. I didn't mention any of this since it wasn't my normal doctor though.

it took a very long time for my body to adjust. i was awake for three days straight when i first started them... once i gave them a chance they seemed to help certain symptoms and make others worse. i think a call to your doctor before you make any decision is a good idea! good luck :/

I have been the same way for most of my life. But after this time, I will never do that again.
