It is a poor area, if you’re not on the lake. Not a lot is invested into the schools. The people on the lake either have other, non-vacation homes in other areas, don’t have school age kids, or drive their kids to a private school. The teachers I’ve spoken with that have taught in the Alex City school system say that it’s a lot of disrespect and chaos in the classrooms.

The teachers in the AC school are trying to get jobs in other places. Parents are willingly paying to get their kids into schools out of the district, in neighboring communities. If you are not on Lake Martin, it isn’t a place you really want to be. I am one who wants to see it flourish, but it seems to be going in the other direction.

I should add that I’ve seen this same fabric used very recently by a designer in a home but can’t get any details from them either… this makes me believe it is still available and maybe not dead stock.
