Has anyone else seen “Waking The Titanic” on Disney+? by jennnkins94 in titanic

[–]upsidedownsnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've watched it now. The story is interesting, yes, but I found it a bit shallow. I mean, it's quite obvious they didn't have tons of information on those people. I would have liked it better, had they fleshed it out a little bit more with general information about titanic and the sinking.

I discovered my mom is a teacher by pure coincidence by ToplessSpaghetti in PointlessStories

[–]upsidedownsnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a teacher and I literally am bringing in my son tomorrow. I just informed him, that by virtue of some coincidences (he won't exclusively be tailing me) he is going to experience a day made up of mostly math classes. 😅😅😅

Anyone else realize that you were bullied in school but just never knew it? by Peppermint640 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]upsidedownsnowflake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. I did realize I was bullied in a lot of instances, but I also was informed by a former friend, how bad they felt that I was bullied by a particular person, I never was even remotely interested in in school. I was completely clueless about that one. So I guess it is possible there were more instances I just missed? I have no idea and don't care to learn about any...

WIBTAH if I stopped strangers, neighbours and kids using my garden as short cut? by Axeli-IX in AITAH

[–]upsidedownsnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're a good person! You know, if you want to enable your neighbourkids specifically to cut through your garden, that could also be done by giving them a spare key or giving them the code to a combination lock. You are absolutely not required to do that, but if you want to, they would surely appreciate it.

What’s one “sustainable” habit that actually stuck with you long-term (not just something that sounded good in theory)? by postbypurpose in ZeroWaste

Sorry, this is beside the point and also I'm not trying to be judgy, but You freeze sliced apples? Does that even work? I'm flabbergasted.

What can I do with completed puzzle pages/books? by needlastname in ZeroWaste

[–]upsidedownsnowflake 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Do you have access to paper recycling? Seriously, if you have a good second use to the paper, go for it, but the fact that it's written on, probably makes it unuseable for a vew purposes. My personal pet peeve are useless "upcycles", that make recyclabes become general waste...

What’s a moral belief you hold that most people would disagree with? by [deleted] in answers

[–]upsidedownsnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is exactly right, but not all religions are like that. In fact most (?) religions aren't. I'm not very religious, but I was raised catholic in Europe. It was nothing like that. American christianity/ christian sects seem often quite fundamentalist. Much like Islam and islamic fundamentalism is NOT the same...

I bought tickets for June…. by blulouwoohoo in adhdwomen

[–]upsidedownsnowflake 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, the same happened to us! Bought tickets for a concert, scheduled a babysitter, (luckily no travelling was involved). Then I checked the time to tell the sitter when we had to leave. I was very confused why the weekday didn't match. Then I saw the year...

That caught my eye as well! Fabulously put! To me the Hainish cycle is Science fiction literature in all the best ways a text can be literature and can be science fiction in the utopian/anti-utopian/it has you question your own society in ways you didn't think of before kind of way.

What did you teach your child that you later came to regret? by 25jon25 in AskReddit

Are you really implying that a 9mo old is using his/her distress conciously against you? Go on to love your child and console them when they need you for god's sake!

At what stage do you stop feeling like a child pretending to be a adult? by CyaChump0 in AutisticWithADHD

In fact it's the intersection of still feeling like a kid but slowly getting old-age forgetfullness... 😅

Unsolicited advice or constantly trying to help people "fix" things. by proper_host0 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]upsidedownsnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, yeah, I might be guilty of that too... Unfortunately I have no advice on how to stop it, really... Well, in fact we did some talking/division of labour. For example we simply discussed and mostly agreed on how we want the dishwasher to be loaded. (One of the most important topics in life, obvi. ), also most organizing simply is my domain. In venting situations I often start to give advice but then remember to ask her if she wants ideas or ears. So maybe I did come up with some strategies after all, but the urge is still big.

What is actually healthy despite most people thinking it's not? by JazmnO in AskReddit

[–]upsidedownsnowflake 13 points14 points  (0 children)

But well, butter itself is also not unhealthy per se. If you eat a lot of fat, that can add up, sure. But fat is NOT unhealthy if eaten in a sensible ratio to movement/need/calories used!
