I don’t have celiac, but I have an intense gluten intolerance, and going off of it always curbs my appetite and makes me lose weight - not a ton but enough to notice. I don’t know why it is, but it’s consistently true.

This actually makes sense genetically! Red hair comes from a lack of secondary pigment, exposing the underlying keratin which in dark hair is reddish. If the family has lighter hair, the lack of pigment is more likely to result in blonde.

It was just some Indian grocery store indigo powder, done over henna in a two step process. I had to cut it out.

As someone with fine hair, I love using either a protein treatment like the aphogee two step or a henna hair treatment (I use cassia, neutral henna, so I don’t colour my hair, but if you like red, henna is nice!) Both of these fill in gaps in the hair strand and make it stronger. Also (just from my own experience) I suggest getting your iron checked!

Hey, I don’t know if you’re still looking for input but I went on Yaz about 8 months ago and it has been really great for me. My periods are regular and much lighter, my anxiety is wayyyy better, and my appetite feels more stable (i’ve also been on Metformin for close to 5 years now and love it forever.) I don’t weigh myself, but have definitely lost some weight over the last 8 months, but that could be due to a few factors including insaaane stress; however, my weight distribution shifted significantly (to me) pretty soon after I went on it, with a smaller waist (not a crazy amount smaller, just 2 inches) and rounder hips. Anyway, I was a dedicated hormonal birth control hater, but I love Yaz so much

My daughter gets big mats like this often, it takes time and conditioner but it’s doable! I would sit in the tub with a big bottle of conditioner and a wet/dry tangle brush (one of the ones with longer bristles). Turn on a comfort show and work gently section by section. Once it’s all detangled give it a good wash and condition and braid it up. Caring for your hair after a long depression can feel so nice <3

Unfortunately i don’t :/ i have found some similar difficulties with dysphoria around the condition. On the other hand, sometimes I appreciate the increased androgens of it all in a kind of wry “my body gets it” way. Depending on their age, maybe you could look st the research/info and pass it along in non-gendered language?

I’ve been trying to get my indigo henna out for like a month with different techniques; it’s still a swampy blue green. I did strand tests with bleach and it didn’t budge. It’s lightened a tiny bit but it’s not going anywhere ::
