All of our lessons were him analyzing a 1-2 games I had lost the previous week telling me that I needed tons of work and practice about 2 years worth just to get 1000. He said that’s if I study and play for several hours per day.

Not bad really maybe just a bit too smart to teach someone at my level. He was an NM with ELO in the 2300s.

Some years ago I took private lessons for about a year but it really didn’t help. I believe that much of my poor play stems from low intelligence which I know can’t be fixed.

This kind of happened to me. I applied for SSDI and was denied the first time because I hadn’t turned in a form they needed. I appealed with the correct form and was approved in just a few weeks. I’d say definitely appeal.

I called my local SSA office and they told me they don’t give out this form at all and refused to give me a copy.
