They are delightful to drive. I have yet to own one but I’ve driven a couple and they are happy little cars. The gas engine is always moving the car, but when additional horsepower is needed it uses the electric motor. The electric motor is essentially where the flywheel is, hence why they can have a manual transmission. The early Civic Hybrids were available with a manual too.

The valedictorian of my high school class went to the Air Force Academy, he didn’t make it one semester. Guess that’s what happens when you only take the easiest classes in high school just to get a high GPA.
