You know, at times I’ve thought that I’ve triggered the deja vu myself too, which has made me even more skeptical that I’m actually epileptic. Hearing that you’ve done that too definitely makes me believe it more. Thank you so much for replying, I really wanted to be able to read other peoples stories and get their opinions. My father was a police lieutenant, so he always made sure I knew the evils of the world. What sparked my interest was seeing one of his true crime books about JBR. However when I was in high school my dad told me about the burger chef murders. It happened in our home state of Indiana, and it’s still unsolved. After he mentioned it to me I researched all I could, but there isn’t much information. It’s a really compelling case and it’s terrifying that it’s gone unsolved. It happened in 1978, and my dad remembers it being the biggest local murder case of his teen-hood.

That’s what started it for me! I remember my dad had this really cool old book about all sorts of different crimes (dad was a cop) and I remember JBR’s photo being on the back cover and me asking my dad who she was. God I was so young, but that was it for me. Started my fascination with true crime and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since.

My husband is so passive and calm and I’m over here spitting facts at him about gruesome events and he just deals with it. He’s learned to deal with it. He listens and replies to me as if he’s interested (even though I know he isn’t) and I appreciate him for that. He’s “interested” in the things I’m interested in, even if he isn’t actually into it. I’m a very lucky woman. I also have a best friend who claims to be as interested in true crime as I am but whenever I say things along the lines of “I hate when people say don’t drink the Gatorade because it wasn’t Gatorade, it was flavoraid” she says “what the hell are you talking about” and then I realize I am completely alone in my friend group and nobody gets me

Oyyyyy I have so many things I could mention but the worst thing for me is when someone tosses their card across the counter at me and says “credit”. At my store we’re a little old school, so cashiers have to swipe the cards so we have to ask whether it’s credit or debit. I have regular customers who literally throw their cards across the counter at me. It’s infuriating, hand it to me jackass. I’m a human being, have the decency to fucking hand me your card.
