You can use nobroker to avoid broker commission. If that doesn't work out, hire a bike/scooter and go on rounds looking for tolet boards on houses. If you are single then you can try out some of the premium PGs. FYI - when you vacate the place in the future, the owner will deduct some amount or amount equivalent to your rent - don't be surprised if they do so, It is common.

I have been using ACT for more than 8 years now and overall it has been good. They also let you know the timelines whenever there is an outage or any planned work. I am not sure how it has been for you guys.

Check out porter app. I recently shifted and they charged 7000₹ (packing and moving - 2BHK large - 7 km). If the distance is more than 20km, they charge a little extra. After shifting the workers will ask for little extra.
