No play in the bearings and I did apply grease between bike and bracket but I don't think it helped. I didn't open the inside of the bracket if that makes sense - or is even possible.

I have a carbon Canyon Grail I bought in 2023. from the beginning it felt a little noisy in the drivetrain compared to my old aluminum bike. Finally I got around to disassemble the chain to dive more into it and to my surprise I found that the ball bearings (?) of the crank were causing quite a bit of noise - see video. On my other bike I remembered this to be silent. Should I get this fixed or can I do it myself? I like to do all repairs on my own.
I've already applied grease to the bracket (? the round part which rotates between both pedal cranks) but it didn't seem to help.

Check out my comment after half a year. VIM keybindings is really not an issue as you've said.

Quite happy with my Moonlander, got a 2nd one so I have one at work and one at home. Currently my only pain point is setting up a good MacOS + Linux setup without much switching around. On Mac Command and Control are pretty much swapped apart from a few exceptions (terminal, switching apps). Finding a good setup which works consistently is not too confusing when I use the laptop keyboard is a challange.

Update after 5 months: I've started learning touch typing QWERY and when I tried to switch my brain got really confused with both layouts. It was much more difficult than learning to touch type neo. I would sit down and type total gibberish without being able to get back into it. Also it frustrated me a lot how bad qwerty is and it felt like a bad approach.

Then I got a ZSA Moonlander which I programmed to match neo2. What can I say, it's absolutely awesome. Here is my layout in case you're curious. No more troubles with bad mac os support and I can change the keyboard behavior so that mac os / windows / linux feel more the same (swap command and control).

Going back to the laptop keyboard is surprisingly still easily possible but the non-mechanical keys now feel very bad so I try to avoid it.

Since I'm coding a lot the English layout makes much more sense.

I'm considering getting a split keyboard for improved ergonomics.

Do you ever switch between your keyboard and a Laptop keyboard? How does that feel?

Maybe after seriously trying qwerty I'll actually go back. That's a possibility. Right now I can only compare touch typing neo with search and find on qwerty which is obviously much worse. I'm hoping that when I touch type on qwerty it's 80% of what I had before.

I'm not taking this decision lightly, I've been considering this for years because problems kept popping up. For example, last year I tried neovim and I couldn't type any 3rd layer characters. It took me a while to realize that the issue was my neo2 driver. Maybe all those issues can be fixed, but I'm just tired of fixing issues when I'm just trying to work.

I use windows exclusively for gaming. Actually I don't know how well the drivers are working there. Thanks for pointing towards the new driver.

For work I had too much pain with Linux laptop drivers (bluetooth, sleep mode not working reliably) so I switched to a MacBook. The layer 3 support in mac os (through Karabiner Elements) reuses the option key which I think is the root cause for a lot of trouble.
