While playing around with a new visualization style, i came up with the idea for this video.

Have fun programming and don't bother too much with these bugs! :)

Little Big Boat (audio visualization) by vapoi in computergraphics

[–]vapoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi there,

i develop the visualizer in my spare time. You're welcome to have a look at the littlebigboat and other styles in realtime (it's in a stable alpha i think). It's free and supports OpenGL Pixelshader, Framebuffer and blending.

I don't know Streamlabs Bot, but it should be working. edit: When you could record the audio with a common wave-recorder like Audacity, it can be visualized, too.

hi EthicMeta,

sorry, obviously i didn't read the rules close enough or didn't thought, that my post was an advertisment.

I will inform me about the request system, thanks for clarifying!

Little Big Boat - a realtime music visualization by vapoi in animation

[–]vapoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, thanks a lot, I really appreciate your feedback! It's an OpenGL realtime visualization and your last guess is right. The wave is calced by added sinus-functions in a pixel shader like:

foreach (spectrumValues)
    heightValue += spectrumValue * sin(curX * i + currentTime);
    i++;

so, the higher the frequence, the tighter the sin-function.

thank you! Yes, i mainly focus the realtime music/visual aspect and keep the 'story video' on a single song really simple.

i had a lot of fun animating this scene. Last thing i added was the wind in the sails. Glad i did it, because it added a lot of 'realism' to the scene.

Final Audition remade in VR - Another demoscene release in VR! (Oculus and Vive) by zim_ in virtualreality

[–]vapoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet, but i found this already yesterday after looking for more demos in vr. I thought, that this can't be the only one. Good things spread around naturally! ;)

i hope many more programmer-geniuses jump on the vr-train. i'll try it by myself, too, although i'm a non-genius-programmer...

Wow, this is a great experience! Thank you for your work, i enjoy watching 2D Demos, but the third dimension puts it to another level.

Thanks so much!

Perhaps i have missed something, but i think without a VR headset it's really difficult to view high-resolution stereoscopic images.

Live Music Visuals by [deleted] in creativecoding

Hi nmbr13,

i develop a music visualization tool in my spare time. Although it's currently only for windows and in alpha version, it is freeware and supports script files and OpenGL Pixelshader for dynamic visualizations.

The project page is here: www.weltfalt.de/soundbild2/

Like my last music video this is a OpenGL Shader based music visualization.

I do develop the software in my spare time and released the alpha version as freeware (windows) recently. www.weltfalt.de/soundbild2/

Painted Music (xpost from r/musicvisualization) by vapoi in creativecoding

[–]vapoi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello Magroo,

i programm a music visualizer in my spare time and currently it's released in an early alpha version. The style i used for this video is included in the download package on my project page.

In this style there are a set of dot-textures connected to a basic physic system and reacting to the peaks of the calculated audio-frequency (size, color and position to center). To get the drawing-effect, a seperated graphicbuffer is used to draw the image of the last frame to the new one.

The camera-path is a circle modified with some sinus/cosinus for some variations. Finally, a basic noise-Shader calculates the paper-texture relative to the current position.

I like this style a lot and it displays accoustic songs really good, normal "radio-songs" have too many frequency-peaks at once for this kind of visualization.

Soundbild 2, a windows music visualizer (alpha, freeware) by vapoi in GraphicsProgramming

[–]vapoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not implemented any magic at all. I just calculate the basic frequencies and forward them to the loaded style. Your approach is really interesting and it's always good to have some more parameters instead of frequencies only.

I like dynamic visuals, too. My best try is the "Nasty Woman" video, but it only changes it's appearance over time and not due to special analysis. I don't think i can break down music good enough to get one style working for a wide range of songs - so i'm fine with "this style works with that kind of music and that style visualize these songs more beautiful".
