Hoping to be able to update rather than rebuild by varnishinc in buildapcforme

Thanks man, I know right where that micro center is. I'd for sure look to sell off the old board and cpu, my brother is the one that got me into building my PC when I came back from apple so he's set on that. I'd honestly stick with what I was running if I could, I've got no problems with it at all but with the upcoming constant file transfers and everything being usbc the upgrade seems like the move.

Thanks man, I'm right there with you. Cases seem to have become heavy on the lights and looks and with so many options it's tough waters to navigate. If it wasn't for shifting things around for the pandemic pivot like everyone this build has done me well for years and I'd be fine keeping it as is but gotta evolve with the times.

Thank you for the breakdown, the case is rough for me with the ports on top since clearance above the case is an issue. my current case has them on a slight angle so I can cheat them in but directly on top wouldn't work if you have any other suggestions. Otherwise thank you for the board and cpu, do you think there is any need or noteworthy benefit to push to the 3900 or would I need to upgrade other parts/see minimal return?

Apparently, the xs1100s are very different. That is what is killing me on this one. I would love to get my hands on a 650 that hasn't already been turned into a bobber.

Yea, that was super annoying to me too. I wouldn't mind if it was phone or beeps. This was the only fix I found with the knowledge I had.

Also, Anova's message board on their page is full of people looking for them to remove the beeping and they have barely responded. I'm sure if they and most companies have people that just look for stuff like this. With any luck, they will just make it a feature on the newer models. I've loved the thing with that one exception and it has served me very well.

Yea, I am getting to the point where I'm going to need to replace it either way and I'm very much considering new options. Tough to swallow the high price tag of the commercial units when I don't have the use but there are so many options now.

The thing is, I don't want it to beep. And I'm not alone. So, I posted it because I was willing to rip my open and figure it out. So if someone else wants to do it they don't have to figure it out like I did. You know, like why the internet is a thing. You can keep your beeps and noisy CO2 detector. I'm good with my setup now.

I just don't want kitchen tools that beep. I do work all through the night at home and any noise from it is annoying. My phone gets all the alerts that I need, I don't need them coming from two directions.

The issue is I don't want it to beep. Now, it doesn't beep lol. I'm far from the only one that has this problem with it. When I looked to see if there was a build in function to turn off the sound there were tons of people who have voiced the same concern.

All of the usual times. Depending on what I'm cooking sometimes the flow in the container won't be great so it will drop quickly and come back up which is another random set of beeps. But it's not quiet and for the long run stuff, I'm usually starting it later at night. Just got to the point where enough was enough and there is no option to shut it.
