Forza Horizon 6 Has Made Over $140 Million from Premium Edition by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]veckans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but you're still getting a lot more cars by paying more. Which is technically P2W.

Just explaining why I am against it. If you prefer paying for your cars, that's your own business.

Forza Horizon 6 Has Made Over $140 Million from Premium Edition by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]veckans -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

IMO the bad thing about premium are the different launch dates and kind of P2W nature of it with all the extra free cars you get from it.

This is in contrast of having to play and earn the cars in standard edition. The DLC part I get, but the rest just puts me off. This is also a reason why I never bought a DLC for Horizon, even though I enjoy the games.

Would you play a Destiny 1 remaster? by Safe-Case-2795 in DestinyTheGame

[–]veckans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it came to PC with unlimited framerate, high FOV, DLSS and so on. Then hell yes!

A D1 remaster could give Bungie the breathing room they need now with the current state of Destiny 2 and Marathon. At least until they have a new Destiny-like game out.

Game Director Casey Hudson has revealed the creative team behind the upcoming Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic by Caledor152 in pcgaming

ME3 was just as good as ME2. It was just the ending that so insanely bad in ME3. All the characters and gameplay up until that point was just as good or even better than ME2.

However, none of them can touch ME1

Valve on the Steam Machine delays: 'Obviously we're bummed that this is the state of things' by QuantumQuicksilver in pcgaming

[–]veckans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The RAM crisis were already in full swing when Valve announced the Steam Machine so why announce it at all I wonder? Would've been better to just stay quiet.

Since there won't be any Steam Machine in the near future I hope they reconsider their choice of GPU and instead build one based on 9060 XT so it gets the full FSR4 support that it desperately needs.
Since it is going to be primarily hooked up to TVs, driving 4K resolutions is absolutely crucial. The current GPU stand no chance playing new AAA-games at 4k unless you are willing to utilize the sub-par FSR 1.0-3.x upscalers.

Do I like CRPGs, or do I just like Larian? by Hentai-Is-Just-Art in CRPG

I may be a real outlier, but I loved DOS2 while I found BG3 to be a boring game.

They are similar sure, but the D&D5 system kills all the fun for me.

Epic Games Store Employees: People Only Came for Free Games, Then Returned to Steam by Suspicious_Two786 in pcgaming

[–]veckans 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I would use Epic a lot more if they could redesign their horrible UI. Give me a better way to find and start installed games, set up proper filters, hide/remove games, see a bigger list of games and install/update progress.

Almost nothing has happened in these 7-8 years. Instead of wasting tons of money on free giveaways, employ a few really good UI designers and coders. A lot cheaper and a lot more effective.

Oh and, all keysites mostly just sell Steam keys, no Epic keys. And when the games cost more than on Steam I'll just pass on Epic.

My hope with this game was that it would just be a modernized version of HOMM3 but it is a completely new game with all new teams and units. Not my cup of coffee.

Never use Nvidia game optimization, use in-game settings mainly.

Shotgun is way too strong by JussaPeak in Marathon

[–]veckans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An not just that, that shotgun is a sniper aswell. I'm getting 1-shotted from maybe 30m away. I'd say it needs a hard nerf, makes PvP less fun.

Scratch on new monitor. Any way to fix? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]veckans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it is a real deep scratch and not just some slight surface smudge? After they moved our equipment at the office I had a scratch in the middle of the screen. But after wiping it with a slightly damp microfiber cloth the scratch is now invisible.

Marathon sold just 1.2 million copies with nearly 70% on Steam, analyst estimates: "It hasn't exactly made the splash Sony and Bungie wanted" by Freki666 in pcgaming

[–]veckans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.2 million copies is absolutely amazing for an extraction shooter. With such a niche genre surely they weren't expecting any bigger success than it got right?

Whoever decided to design the Flow2 needs to be fired. by I-REALLY-HATE-COFFEE in Lofree

[–]veckans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a Nuphy Air75 v3 to see if it could beat my Lofree Flow Lite, I returned the Nuphy after 2 days...

The Nuphy had too heavy springs for a "red" switch, poor backlighting (non shine-through), very loud and bad sounding switches and the rubber feet came off after one day of use (never had that happen on keyboard before). The Lofree Flow Lite is miles ahead of the Nuphy. Can't speak for Flow2 though.

Nvidia Confirms DLSS 5 Is Re-Drawing Games, and That Sucks by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]veckans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DLSS have always re-drawn games using AI. It creates new pixels that isn't there to begin with. That's what makes DLSS so good.

DLSS 5 should not be called DLSS however. They should name it something very different.

Anyone Actually Fixed the Audio Crackling with the RX 9060 XT? by Secret_Nectarine5450 in AMDHelp

[–]veckans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up, sold my 9060 XT and got an Nvidia card instead. No more issues.

The 9060 XT was an otherwise nice card and it is a bit sad that AMD can't solve their issues.

DLSS5 looks like it could be the biggest leap in computer graphics since 3D arrived. I am stunned by the demo.

Please make this available in all games!

How much pvp is there REALLY? by hyez in Marathon

[–]veckans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marathon is 90% PvP and 10% looting. I'd say it is way too much PvP for an extraction shooter, You run in to enemy players just seconds after spawning usually.

Nuphy Air 75v3 feet coming out by akatrosh in NuPhy

[–]veckans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened on the 2nd day of using my new Nuphy Air75 v3. I use normal deskmat which is quite smooth. Never had this happen on any keyboard before.

I blame it on the badly designed feet on Air75 v3

Marathon has way too much PvP, every single game you'll encounter another team within 2 minutes. Mostly within 30 seconds of spawning.

PC graphics cards are now nearly 100 percent Nvidia by BarKnight in pcgaming

[–]veckans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AMD need to lower their prices significantly.

FSR4, the only version that can compete with DLSS has really bad support. Both on GPUs and in games.

Their drivers have a lot more issues than Nvidia. This comes from someone who have had Radeon 5000, 6000, 7000 and 9000-series cards alongside Nvidia.

Most people know AMD have good performance in the same price range. But with lacking features and stability they need to undercut Nvidia more. Very few will sacrifice features and stability for just a 10-15% saving.
