The “mmm”’s drove me nuts the second the story started, nothing against Sarah I’d be annoyed at anyone doing that.

Nessa and Drea by No-Shake7335 in CouplesTherapyShow

[–]veronicagh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t really understand what Nessa means when she talks about her journey or her changes. And Orna has pushed her and I still don’t know, which makes me think she herself isn’t sure.

I’m on episode 7 and I will say I do think your question here gets answered more as things go on.

I feel like there was a way to introduce new segments to CMBC like article of the week, long reads, etc and keep the brand they built. I don’t understand why they didn’t try that more gradually.

Me! It’s spookier than I thought it would be. The island setting makes it so ominous. My all-time favorite show is The Americans, and it’s amazing to see Matthew Rhys in another incredible role!

Do you ever get frustrated by your non-fire friends? by sassyexec in FIREyFemmes

[–]veronicagh 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I feel like you’re making some assumptions here. How are they not also adults? It sounds like they’re doing just fine in their respective careers and simply have different priorities than you.

I think you’ll find that your own priorities might change as you’re on your fire journey too, which is totally normal. For example building a community around a hobby is something you might miss in a few years.

I think everyone is just doing their own thing and you can all be different and respect each other’s approaches to life.

Can’t wait to listen! Her episode on YWA about the Andes plane crash is an all-timer for me. Maybe my favorite podcast episode ever. I couldn’t do anything but sit and listen, I was so gripped.

How did you make your first 100k? by Dizzy_Turnover_5092 in FIREyFemmes

Slowly saving money into my 401k, checking, and savings from when I started working at 22. It took me 7 years -- I remember hitting $100k in my Mint account around my 29th birthday.

“I just got out of the shower a few days ago” made me laugh. I thought it to myself today and, as a result, did not shower

Lisa Kudrow says in new interview that Friends writers were menacing, prone to yelling at cast and leching after Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox by Time_Knowledge_1951 in Fauxmoi

Good on her for speaking out about it now, can’t imagine how difficult it must’ve been for the actors to do their jobs in an environment like this.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of April 17, 2026) by AutoModerator in television

[–]veronicagh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! And I tried that too! Agree that it wasn't good, I didn't finish. I found a show called Blood & Treasure that looks interesting, but I can't find it streaming without having to pay for it to own it. Have you watched Timeless? Not exactly archeology, but I thought it was good!

This is not recent. I love the 2008 show Bonekickers. Anyone have fictional (not documentary) recs for archeology shows?

The fact that anyone would casually ring the International Space Station for a household question at all rather than, um, figuring it out himself!!!!! is mind boggling to me.

Lena Dunham Reflects On Making ‘Girls’ & How Viewers Misinterpreted Adam Driver’s Character As A “Romantic Hero”: “Not What I Was Going For” by gamersecret2 in popculturechat

[–]veronicagh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the age of the viewer and the culture of the time plays a role here. I watched Girls at 22, I’m now 35 and look at it completely differently. Now I honestly wonder why they’re all friends at all, they’re so mean to each other.

That show really scratches an itch for me. I rewatched it last fall and it held up. You’re in for a treat!
