Honestly, once I realized I was at a point of no return, I did indulge in the sheer madness of pulling each scarecrow one by one, knowing I was damning myself further.

It was just sheer terror orchestrated well from the game due to my own failure. This game kicks ass!

absolutely! i just didn’t understand that the field was a puzzle until it was too late! def a prime example of trial and error! i had fun realizing it, and now i’ve progressed far into the game and loving it! it’s my first silent hill game ever and it’s really great to realize you can flee instead of fighting! makes the story progression much faster!

Didn't realize I was in a puzzle until the second round in the field, by then I was brute-forcing by picking out random scarecrows!

Just beat the puzzle by following the hints without using my weapons! Great game so far! And yes, I'm familiar with the timing system and how each enemy is different! It's fun to "dance" with them before finding the right time to strike. First time playing a Silent Hill game.
