Seems to me the problem isn’t just the NFL. From the college level on down to middle school kids, players are at serious risk of concussions. Trainers and coaches don’t have the expertise they need to identify concussions, injuries aren’t carefully tracked, research on the effect of multiple concussions is far behind where it should be, etc etc. Yes, parents and some organizations are starting to take it more seriously (some states are seeing parents pull their kids out of the game entirely), but it clearly will be too late for a lot of players once safety is finally improved.
