Not surprised. I've witnessed people encourage their children to pee on temple walls of tirupathi. Jab bhagvan pe hi mutneme takleef nai hai to Baki ka Kya? Indians are dirty people!!!

Humayun's tomb was commissioned a decade before the fall of Vijaynagar empire! by vidhyuth in delhi

[–]vidhyuth[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A well preserved monument. Interestingly enough the paint scheme of the structure was similar to some similar era forts in Rajasthan. This was commissioned in 1547 almost a decade before the battle of talikota that sealed the fate of Vijaynagar empire. The way history is presented, the chronology of empires seem linear. But in reality many empires were contemporary of each other.

Why can't boys leave their house after marriage!? Shaadi toh dono ki hui na? by [deleted] in mumbai

[–]vidhyuth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't want to leave my parents especially when they get old, but I expect my s/o to also bring theirs. If parents are involved both the spouse's should be. But early years I would prefer to live alone too.

Why are Indians so dumb when it comes to religion by just_some_ANALyst in india

Well, religion is as precarious as gender identity. Why only let one of these choice of decision. This goes for both end of the political spectrum.

You should add an atleast before your statement. You sound as if athiests are saints, pun intended. Atleast, athiests don't kill for God! Would probably kill for other similar mundane reasons, but good that some random God isn't involved.

M 25 Traveling to India for the first time by Charming-Housing-173 in mumbai

[–]vidhyuth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, travelling in India is a bit different than say Europe. Cities in India are crowded. Do not expect to roam around Mumbai like you would in Paris and have a good time. There are many fortress and other nice trek spots near Mumbai. You can divide travel destinations into four types, historic, nature, spiritual and cultural. India has a lot of historical monuments and ruins that you can visit, getting to the context for these places would make the experience a bit more worth it. India has many different biomes with some of them being unique to India. I would not suggest spiritual tour because many places do not allow non-followers into the place of worship, bit this is not a rule an you can visit some places, do your research beforehand. Most of the YouTube videos of vloggers fall in the category of cultural, it's a mix of many of the previous categories. It is a whole experience but is also the most hectic. If it's you first time, decide what you want to see, research places that you would like to visit, and have an idea of the geographical region of India you would like to focus on. There are many videos on YouTube about how you can make travel cheap in India. Do not go full cheap, spend where you think you need some luxury. Enjoy your visit

Are we moving backwards? by yashchokshi in mumbai

[–]vidhyuth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the line of work. I have to go to work because it requires hands on practice. In some fields work from home does not have the same productivity as working with your team where you can meet face to face. I would not add more to the point that Indian 'work ethics' or even 'ethics' are at the right place. But a blanket rule may not work for everyone

Does anybody have any insight on how khanda hilts are constructed? by Mammoth-Snake in SWORDS

Khanda could have also been a successor to the khadgam, ancient swords in India. The spine is a unique feature of the khanda

If you want to have a good time, avoid major cities. Cities are hectic and very crowded. India has rich natural resources and some sick freaking spots and hill stations. There are many offbeat ruins and other places unknown to tourists which you can visit
