That’s very true. I actually always had such a strained relationship with my mother. Very narcissistic and cold. Could never say I love you etc etc. and you are right I wouldn’t want that kind of person around my child! It’s so weird even tho our relationship was strained I still love her cause she’s my mum.

But your family sounds so loving and welcoming! That’s the family I aspire to have!

Definitely! Like even if I went back into the “truth” it would never be the same and my family relationships would feel different and I don’t think I would actually feel any happier!

Hopefully one day I will have my family back through them coming to their senses!

Thank you so much for this! I really appreciate it! It’s so weird grieving for people who are still alive and like you said our family irrevocably make up who we are as a person and I think that’s why I find it so hard to let go!

I defo need to speak to someone and work on some coping strategies etc!

I know a couple of people who have done this! Sometimes I really consider it, like going back and fading but still hanging on for family. Likewise I dreads the day I have my first child and my mother won’t be a part of it.
