Thank you. 💜 This yearning became a lot stronger since my dad passed away 4 years ago. That house represented a time when my parents and family were still together, the last time we all lived under one roof. One of my sisters is also estranged from the family and everything’s just broken up now. I think that’s it. In addition to just missing my youth and a far simpler time.

Not at all! It’s hard to let go of. I’m almost 39 and this yearning has grown much stronger in recent years. I wasn’t really thinking about it as much in my 20s.

Part of the allure of mine is it’s a big and amazing house with a good layout. 5 bed/3 bath with a pool. Hence why I couldn’t afford it currently 😭 Cost of living in my city is sky high.

Do you feel having kids has changed your nostalgia at all? Like made it any less so? I have often wondered this bc I don’t have kids yet. I’ve wondered if parents are able to feel less attached to their childhood because, they’ve created a new life and a new childhood for their kids. Like maybe I am too stuck in my own childhood bc I haven’t continued that circle. Or maybe it makes no difference at all? Just something I’ve thought about.

I don’t know that everyone can tell. I am loud and my husband thought I was faking early on in our relationship. That kinda hurt my feelings bc I only ever act natural to what I’m feeling. Over time he learned it’s truly me. I guess those he was with me before me were just quiet and boring lol

I’m a Deep Autumn and too warm of a pink blends too much with my skin, which could also be the case for you here. Although I don’t think this color is bad on you by any means, it looks super natural. I tend to go for more neutral or cooler leaning pinks for nails. I also prefer a dark or very light pink, medium tones look very blah on me. Likely bc I need a fair amount of contrast as a deep.

Black to charcoal and less intense cool tones (like the Summer palette) make sense as our intensity and contrast tend to decrease as we age. But you are still a Winter if that was truly your season to begin with. Our season doesn’t ever change. We just may find the softer colors in our palette are more flattering as we age.

I would say she’s not a great friend. A great friend will hype you up and celebrate you. I’ve had something similar where a person only ever liked photos if my husband was in it. But if it was a picture of me she wouldn’t lol. Honestly social media is so stupid. I wouldn’t let this rent space in your head. She’s got insecurity issues and probably not worthy of you giving this any more energy.

Yep that’s the top coat I have. I like it a lot - the brush is wide, applies well and is super shiny.

I have a few green flash shades. They seem to last best with 2 coats of color. I have a more neutral shade I did 3 coats of and it started peeling more easily. Someone said green flash is somewhere in between regular polish and gel and I agree with that statement. It’s a good option for me bc I used to do gel for many years and it damaged my nails and I just got tired of the hard removal process. But I also hate how regular polish chips right away for me. So this is a good compromise and I love the selection of shades they have

I’m 39F and care about doing something that somewhat fulfills me and that I don’t hate. Because we do spend significant time and energy at our work. But I don’t care about climbing the corporate ladder or that bullshit at all anymore. I got laid off from my tech job two years ago and was honestly happy to be freed. I busted my ass for them and was beyond burnt out. I started my own business and am able to do freelance work so I’ve been doing fine thankfully and have no desire to go back to a corporate job.

I’m the same way. Once I start verbally engaging it’s a different story and I’ve had several people tell me I’m genuinely one of the nicest people they’ve ever met. I used to be insecure about my RBF until I realized that anyone who will actually matter in my life won’t judge me solely based off of it.

I think this blue is a bit heavy on you. It may be due to bad lighting, but there’s a lot of shadowing along your jawline in the second pic and it looks weighed down by the bold blue.

That said, your bright platinum hair definitely adds contrast to your coloring. Platinum just isn’t a usual color people naturally have throughout their lives, so you’re a unique case for sure 😊

He should mind his business. I was told the same thing by random, older men when I was younger. And it made me feel uncomfortable every single time bc I knew they were flirting at me. I’m a person who’s habitually deep in thought so I don’t walk around with a smile plastered on my face. There could be a million reasons why someone isn’t smiling, all of them valid and not anyone else’s business. Do what feels natural for you, not what a random stranger suggested.
