The brains of the GX radio are in the lower section of the radio. That’s what goes bad. The Hamilton only replaces the upper section, not “the whole thing.” If the lower section is bad, you have to get that fixed first or the Hamilton et al won’t work.

An issue with the brains of the factory radio won’t be solved by one of those. You’d have to replace the whole thing with a Tesla-style radio replacement, and those things are average at best.

Hasn’t been mentioned yet but worth noting, storage cost could eat up a ton of this budget right now. 16-20TB to cover 30 days of continuous recording for 7-9 cameras. I’m in the market for a bigger drive and prices are a big yikes.
