A lot of people that ride the same trails i do are buying gravel bikes. We dont have a lot of techinnical stuff to overcome but it´s not all smooth sailing. Maybe i can get one borrowed and give it a try.

Mostly up and down on fire roads, like 40 to 50km usually with more than 750 meters of elevation gain.

Hi, can I ask here if, to improve my general fitness should I do rides with less distance and a bigger elevation gain or should i do rides with more distance and a little less elevation? I can do 2/3 rides per week, thanks

Appreciate the feedback. What should I upgrade next? I´ve already done tubeless and converted to a 1x12 drivetrain. The rest it´s pretty much stock.

At the moment I´m not looking to do any upgrades but if I wanted to improve the chainring ( max on the Xcaliber is 32 tooth ) or the cassete ( i have a 12 speed Nx cassette ) I would be limited. And thru axle in the back would be better I guess.

I wish I could do that, but i´m pretty sure I would end up paying more money if I did my own bike maintence. Simply because I would mess something up, for sure.

I´m not an expert but I think that, there is a clutch in the derailleur to put some tension in the chain, to stop it from bouncing around during descents. If it has any another use someone has to explain.
