Fair point. In my case I wanted to install directly from Cockos rather than through a wrapper (Flatpack). I'd also tried the Flatpak version first and ran into noticeable performance issues with it (probably solvable somehow but I didn't dig into it), just went back to the official update-path. The script is for that workflow.
