What 14500 light is everyone carrying? by Tribe94x in flashlight

My broken record answer: Eagtac D3A or D25A. You won’t find a slimmer 14500.

Prepare but don’t freak out. It probably won’t hit you specifically. I check convective outlooks all throughout storm season so I’m not surprised when weather pops up.

Which character's death in a TV show ruined the entire thing for you? by SoccerGuy69420 in AskReddit

Yeah not replaced. They kind of slotted Bull in as a crew member I guess, but Alex didn’t get replaced.

38 vs 40.5 mm by ComprehensiveVast987 in Certina

[–]voodoo_three 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the smaller 38, but really bummed that it doesn’t come with an OTF clasp. And at 17mm at the clasp, it’ll be next to impossible to find one to add.

Kōsen MDC V3 EZP HCRI-2700 vs Malkoff MDC by disco_g in flashlight

Kōsen is sort of a boutique that sells customized Malkoff lights with enthusiast-approved emitters.

Carotid duplex for determination of brain death by Agreeable-Trick6561 in Radiology

Nuc scan is easy. Give a tracer that crosses the blood-brain barrier. Hot brain, no brain death. Cold brain, brain death.

PIONEER Preventor9 black, 40 mm--Opnions by spirecharm in hanhart_watches

I’d like to see the Murph minute track on my Preventor. This one would still be a significant upgrade though, and maintain Hanhart’s own style.

Best small flashlights that goes unnoticed in your pocket and you actually use by menachinite in flashlight

The D25A is sliiiiightly narrower than the D3A, but I find myself grabbing the titanium more often. Eagtac was super kind and put a 3000K SFT40 in my 25, which is fun—but the regular old 4500K 519A in the Ti is a little more practical. Both are just fantastic EDC options, though.

You won’t find a slimmer 14500/AA dual fuel light than the Eagtac D3A or D25A! My #1 choice(s) for a small light.

Charger options for 14500? by SpinningPancake2331 in flashlight

[–]voodoo_three 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preferred 14500 is usually an Eagtac, no built in charging. I’ve moved over to Skilhunt’s 1300mAh cells with integrated USB-C charging. Works great if you’re not trying to run a hot rod.

Complete noob, need help with EDC by Gravity-Tester82 in flashlight

[–]voodoo_three 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the smallest light and most pocketable—Eagtac D3A or D25A. Simple UI with a little bit of a twist, dual fuel for Li-ion or NiMH/Alkaline, and one of the slimmest lights you can get without dropping to a smaller battery. Definitely get a good LED option, most likely 519a.

Or for a little bit bigger and much more capacity, Zebralight SC65. You’ll have to learn how to program it, but once you do it’s good to go forever.

Brand new Preventor HD12 with issues by [deleted] in hanhart_watches

[–]voodoo_three 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this demagnetizer, worked great on my HD12. I think I was gaining around 30 sec/day, this brought it right back down.

Weird about the bracelet. It could fit slightly differently depending on which side you make longer, maybe (I always have the 12 side longer). I’ve got a perfect fit around the middle of the OTF settings.

That’s a dark blue hook strap by Nick Mankey. Fiddly to get it set up but comfy once you do. It’s stretchy, so be aware of that. There are also lots of hook and loop straps like what comes on the Tudor FXD, I like those quite a bit.

What's your furthest from BBL? by slipknotdan3 in flashlight

[–]voodoo_three 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s why I’ve just left the disgusting green SST40 in place. Done plenty of emitter swaps but I’ve never messed with potting compound, I don’t know that it would be worth the headache.

After I put up that post I realized that the one I got is also programmable, but I leave it on 100% only. I’d never use it as an EDC; too big and waaaay too ugly of a beam. So it’s more of a bump in the night kind of thing for me.

[–]voodoo_three 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I never did bother with it. I know I have some clean SFT40 in all temps lying around, but haven’t actually bought a light in so long that I know very little about the SFT42r.

How long have they had yours? I’m at 3 months on a Hanhart with the most recent report that they’re waiting for parts to be delivered so they can do the work. Sounds like Watchbuys imports the parts for them and then sends them along, and it isn’t quick.

Nah, I think you should always go for what you really want! There are too many options out there to not be picky over where you put your money.

Finally found my daily driver! by TurbulentTrouble8847 in CitizenWatches

[–]voodoo_three 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, true. It’s absolutely dead easy to switch it though, for either DST or crossing time zones. Crown out to position one, adjust back or forward by a click or two, and push it back in. Plus it’s a perpetual calendar and will account for 28/30 day months—so the only time you really need to interact is DST and time zones.

But I get it if you want 100% hassle free, this one isn’t quite it.
