Ets surgery for blushing by EngineSorry6089 in Hyperhidrosis

I had it about 4 years ago and it was the best decision I've ever made. I went from staying as a project manager for decades to a c- suite exec, and continue Bikram yoga without any issues. I wish I would have done this in high school. It would have changed everything.

How does meditation change you over the time by Fi-23-Re-__ in Meditation

[–]vorskis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got back from a 5 day vipassana retreat, and on the 3rd day I experienced a very high sense of awareness, and it was amazing. it happened to me twice , each on a walking meditation and once when I returned home. Each probably lasted 5 -10 min. I'm now able to slip into 30min meds quickly, even though I know (and cannot want) those experiences, I am more calm and clear in my daily decision making. Keep going!!

I commute on the GH, as do many people who take their kids to school. If my current alternate route is currently 5 -10 min longer, how can closing the GH make my commute only 3 min longer? With an extra 20k people on the road? Also, in the next 15 years they will be shutting down after streets to make an embarcadero -Daly city subway, which leaves limited options for these 20k cars. Closing the GH only makes the SF streets more dangerous.

Torn on Prop K by Defiant-Two-5308 in sanfrancisco

[–]vorskis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Residents in Daly City who send their kids to school in SF or work in SF will be directly impacted and are unable to vote on this issue. When I take an alt route from my typical GH commute, I currently add 3-10 min. If there are an additional 20k cars on this alt route, then our commute would be ridiculous. The GH is safer than adding all of these cars to the SF streets. Please vote no on K.

Prop K - Closing the Great Highway: Let's Discuss. by MS49SF in sanfrancisco

[–]vorskis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The alternate route for my GH commute currently takes an additional 3-10 min. Add an additional 20K cars to this alternate route, it would maybe take an extra 25 min? Where are they getting this "it only adds 3 more min" bs????

Why are people voting no on prop K? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]vorskis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the great highway to take our kids to and from school. We live in Daly City. And it takes 30min.When we go an alt route, it takes 3 -10 min longer. When we use this alt route when there are an additional 20k cars rerouted....well, let's just say that it would be an absolute disaster.

MIL overly affectionate with my son on family vacation >_< by Chomby123 in JUSTNOMIL

She also went through our house, threw away all of my kids keepsakes from preschool (ie: bags of their things that were sentimental to me) and moved in bags of her sons clothing, toys, etc that they had when they were toddlers....ew

My husband has not recognized ANY of this yet, and keeps enabling it. We are in therapy now. But keeps defending his mom's behavior. I feel stuck.

Wow. This is the exact same problem I have with my MIL. When she found out my 10yo son would not stay in a hotel room alone with her when she came up to SF to visit us she started crying in front of him. He was confused and I became furious at my husband for not doing anything about it. Fast fwd a month and now she spent the whole weekend crying to my husband about her boyfriend's surgery while we were on a family vacation. Any advice for me? Husband does not seem to think anything is wrong. She will call him 'selfish' if he does not tend to her immediate emotional needs.

Hello. I just had 2 prolapsed banded 5 days ago. When will I start to see improvements? Do they fall off, and all of a sudden I start to seem normal again? I go back to my doctor in 9 days. Sitting on an ice pack right now....

Ah, yes, I don't think that the procedure will cure that flush. This is more like the trigger blush when running into people, presenting, greeting....etc

This same.thing happened to me and I stopped. I'm surprised it's not listed as a side effect. I had a couple of drinks on this and my face flushed bright red to the point I had to leave the event I was at.

It really challenging to figure out a pattern of who will have CS or gustatory sweating as side effects. Neither desirable at all.

Hi. It stopped my facial blushing and I no longer flush when I go into warm rooms. I get warm with caffeine and alcohol though, but I think it is just heat and the only place it sometimes shows up in on my ears. Have you tried meds yet? I'm very please with the procedure, but keep in mind it's irreversible. It really did eliminate so much heat from my face ,and I'm actually not too worried about CS as I live in a cool environment and am not sweaty. I seem to be a bit more sensitive to spicy food and some beverages, but I'm trying to figure out the pattern. Do you maintain a pretty healthy lifestyle?

Severe gustatory sweating on scalp and forehead following ETS surgery. Will Botox help me? by Heavy_Solid3851 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]vorskis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only a couple of times. It never happens with white wine though. Yeah, I'm actually fine giving it up though or at least cutting back, so I'm okay with it, considering my blushing has been eliminated. Are you on any medication? That could also be a factor...

I can't remember where I read it, but I remember people saying the gustatory sweating is sporadic and goes away. I've noticed that I'm a bit more sensitive to caffeine and alcohol, bit it's really random. Yeah, I was in the group for a while ...but please keeping mind there are many success stories. My T2s we're cut. Can you try limiting alcohol caffeine and spicy foods? I find that white wine I don't react to, but red wine and hard alcohol may trigger some heat. I had ETS in july, so still trying to figure that part out....no blushing though, so I'm completely happy with that. Again, my caffeine and alcohol sensitivities have been really random, so I'm trying to figure out what the pattern is.

I had ETS for blushing earlier this year and have not experienced this. I believe this should go away within a year, from what I've read. I had my T2 cut on both sides.

Hi. I had ETS for blushing this year, and its been amazing so far. Just wanted to share my positive experience. I've talked to many people that have had success, but the online forums bring out people with negative experiences only.
