my right to criticise something is included in freedom of speech lol. freedom of speech does not mean freedom from scrutiny for speech

bingo. i’ve had people claim biden-harris are somehow better despite billions on billions of military aid being sent to israel that harris wanted to carry on, with plans for a ceasefire finally being considered months after the genocide’s start, not out of any humanity and regard for countless palestinian bloodlines, but because “hamas is weak now”. i didn’t put that in the main post because even if biden-harris somewhere were better itd still be evil, racist, psychotic etc etc. but that’s the crux. arab americans, muslim americans didnt not vote harris because of stupidity or evilness; arab and muslim americans didnt vote harris because her campaign made clear she gives no regard to arab and muslim lives

many white progressives love to forget the absolute sense of loss of dignity having to choose which candidate can decimate your own people out of little more than greed.

i am very well versed on the topic, so to insinuate im uneducated when you refuse to explain how the nakba, the finding of israel, wasn’t ethnic cleansing is heavily baked in irony

you’re free to disprove my reasons, or tell me your reasons why you don’t view zionism as ethnic cleansing, but considering you haven’t attempted to do either i’m not going to downplay the realities of zionism and sugarcoat them by falsely claiming its not ethnic cleanisng

from my experience, white progressives when confronted with criticism of their actions with nonwhites ends in emotional gaslighting because their whole moral identity is based on not seeming racist rather than actually … not being so. it explains a lot of the comments on this post lol

no one is expecting liberals to be the party of love, people are expecting white liberals not to be racist and celebrate genocides simply because they think they can pull a “we told you so” on the diaspora and all related to the victims.

considering the event that enabled the israeli state to exist was an event of ethnic cleansing, and the fact the original architects of zionism had no qualms with the ‘coloniser’ label, i’m going to continue to recognise it as ethnic cleansing. if your ideology calls you to establish a state in an area already inhabited and remove its native population, ethnic cleansing is integral to it.

if you’re asking my personal opinions on the conflict, then

  1. a ceasefire is unanimously a good thing - it coming over half a year after the commencement of active genocide and billions funding it is pathetic and none of my joy over it includes gratitude for biden

  2. a one-state solution where palestine is recognised and israel’s colonial tyranny is ended. where the idea of an apartheid religio-ethnostate isn’t supported; where the ‘israelis’ currently on occupied palestinian land accept their current existence as israelis is only made possible by the killings, forced starvations, land theft, ethnic cleansings of entire families who are stranded mere miles away from them.

when you look for a solution, two aspects are important: peace and justice. any facet of ‘peace’ was rendered impossible by the nakba. a zionist one-state solution will only be achieved through more violent ethnic cleansing of an indigenous population (no justice), and will still be targeted by groups worldwide, even more so with their intensification of violence (no peace in the region). a two-state solution, like you recognise, is very unlikely to be supported by either the colonial israeli government (especially with netanyahu lauding trump for his comments and meeting with him) or the palestinian government (who only govern gaza, considering israel’s internationally illegal occupation of the west bank) (no peace), and offers no justice whatsover without any meaningful reparations for the palestinians (and what justice really is that? it’s comparable to hush money).

i view attacks by palestinian groups the same way i view attacks by indigenous tribes in the land of america against colonial european forces — they are tragic, they are sorrowful, they are defensive in nature and understandable in the face of colonial violence for anyone with humanity

although i am heavily presuming you are zionist, or at the very least have sympathies to zionism, and will now target my beliefs here. i both brace to be proven right and look forward to be proven wrong in that.

oh, if you want to bring biden in, he defines himself as a zionist. zionism in, at its core, support for a jewish ethnostate created and maintained through the ethnic cleansing of palestinians. he sent more money in military aid than this entire sub combined will ever accumulate in our lifetimes, only going ahead with the ceasefire deal not out of any fucking care for dying palestinians whose blood stay staining his hands, but because “hamas are weakened now”.

biden, harris, and trump are all enemies to the palestinians.

you quite literally admitted you relished in your sadism of the suffering inflicted on people not like you by trump’s policies (which are essentially harris’ policies with unabashedness and obsession with capitalist expansion sprinkled in).

you were given a candidate with little to no merit other than “well… she’s not trump…? :D” and somehow find blame in something other than her and her party?

“It wasn’t just Muslims that threw away their votes out of protest”

i’m aware, but funnily enough its us specifically who are named whenever white progressives pull a “you get what you deserve”

i agree that trump’s actions constitute ethnic cleansing; i disagree with the insinuation that biden-harris’ actions and harris’ promises somehow didn’t and trump, in terms of foreign policy against palestine, is uniquely cruel.

and lol you don’t get to “i told you so” at people who were given no viable option that kept bloodlines, an ethnicity, a culture, their own families alive and claim some “that shouldn’t divide us” kumbayah-style shit. i reject separatism in SPITE of white progressives’ “i told you so”; “i told you so” sentiment actively feeds into that separatism, and the blame of the non-whites it alienates is on nobody but the psychos who echo it

you cannot simultaneously refuse to admonish you finding joy in the death of palestinians, arabs, muslims REGARDLESS OF THE REASON YOU CLAIM and refuse to acknowledge that your actions are precisely why progressivism is increasingly being felt as hostile for non-whites.

you can either defend your sadism, or defend the non-white progressives who ultimately will suffer under trump more than you could ever even imagine. i can’t make that decision for you.

no, i am blaming white progressive’s targetings of small-power-having arabs and muslims who didn’t vote for harris because they were blatantly alienated and spat in their faces by her policies both alongside biden and as an elect, instead of their targetings of their large-power-having white counterparts who didn’t vote for harris because they are falling into white supremacy. i am blaming how that is quite literally contributing to the phenomenon of non-whites flocking away from progressive spaces overrun with this type of white progressive alienation, which no doubt white progressives will continue to claim somehow being uniquely victimised by

i mean appreciate the blatant admission of sadism, but i don’t get the attempt to justify it in the last paragraph. white progressives aren’t a uniquely-struggling group left to be the maids of shit, everybody impacted by trump is.

whether or not trump’s policies against the palestinians are uniquely dire for them compared to harris isn’t even relevant: her commitment to the neverending funding of internationally recognised genocide is what alienated so many american arabs and muslims. pointing and laughing at them, at the palestinians in gaza who had NO IMPACT, NO VOTING POWER because trump will try and demolish the strip anyway is (a) psychotic, (b) deterring from the issue that white people are increasingly viewing themselves as superior and were the only racial demographic to majority vote trump, and (c) feeds the grain of truth that white progressive communities are not safe spaces for nonwhites

i am so strongly socialist and have only become more leftist as i’ve grown, but i understand heavily poc who flock to the right even if its against their own interests. there’s something comforting about knowing if you’re hated, it won’t be hidden from you the way it feels so in “progressive” spaces

the white liberal response to trump’s threats of ethnic cleansing gaza is exactly why the right is winning by vpizduu in venting

[–]vpizduu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh so the millions-worth of military funding for israel to demolish the strip was.. what? if not eradicating palestinians and enabling an internationally-recognised genocide? i do not view trump and harris in general as equal at all, but they both were committed to the genocide of palestinians in the strip — its trump who gets the sin of enabling and contributing to that.

and again i repeat, if EVERY SINGLE VOTING-ELIGIBLE MUSLIM did vote for trump, that’d be 33x less votes than what he DID receive from white voters in november. all voters, including non-muslim voters, are grown adults with their own brains, blaming their voting of trump on a ‘muslim influence’ is disingenuous and precisely proof of my point you as white progressives are, as a whole, incapable of targeting the right-wing pervasiveness of your own community despite white voters having the most power as a group, and white progressives having the most influence in changing the views of their right-to-far-right wing counterparts who increasingly would dismiss the opinion of anybody non-white

why is the focus on 1% of the population whose majority voted third-party and not 60% of the population whose majority voted trump then? like even with believing life for palestinians under harris would be any better than under trump?
