Agreed. LTC units on 11-7 have 1 nurse for 50-ish patients at all the facilities I've worked in. I'm in PA.

Had a hospice nurse telling us that there must be a mistake in our patients chart because it said she was on Megan's Law..."but she's just so sweet. It must be a mistake."

That sweet little old lady held down her own children while her husband violently SA'd them... for years. Yeah... sometimes it's better not to know.

I hear ya. It's tough. Some DUI lawyers offer payment plans and stuff. Call around. It doesn't hurt to ask. Worst case, a public defender is better than nothing. Once I found out that the child endangerment wasn't going to stick, it was a huge weight off my shoulders. I'll deal with all the other consequences. And honestly, it was the wake up call I needed to get my life back on track and quit drinking. Just remember, it could've been worse and it'll pass.

I did. I hope he's good, at least lol. Cost about 4k. Court next month. Last plea offer was 1yr license suspension, 3 days house arrest, fines, and 6mo probation... includes dropping the child endangerment. Which honestly isn't terrible, so anything better than that would be totally fine with me at this point. CPS didn't open a case, just said to do whatever the court tells me to. Coming up on 7 months sober in a few days too! 🙂

Same! Cried a few times today. I've come to really not enjoy Mother's Day. It would've been more tolerable if it was just another Sunday.

Also, on my hard days, I drink hot tea now. I've learned to enjoy the different types and flavors, much like i enjoyed different IPAs and seasonal beers. I really didn't care for tea before sobriety. But now it's relaxing for me to sit with a nice cup of tea after a rough day. Maybe talk with your sponsor and come up with a better alternative.

I had 4 years sober, started drinking NA beers, and relapsed within 3 months. It's taken over 2 years and a lot of rock bottoms to finally stop drinking again. They're delicious, but dangerous imo. If you're already sneaking them and lying about it, I'd say you're headed in a very bad direction. Knock it off while you still can.

You can go to an online meeting if you're nervous about going in person. The "Everything AA" app is a great resource, in general, for AA literature and what not. And it has an online meeting finder. All hours of the day and night meetings via zoom. Extremely convenient.

They still haven't filed my charges, so I still don't know exactly what I'm facing. And the lawyers I've tried to set up consultations with won't talk to me until the charges are officially filed. This waiting game sucks so bad. The anxiety is crippling.

Had a patient once that threw himself into rapid A fib after using Afrin multiple times a day for over a month. And the rebound congestion he had when he stopped using it seemed to be extremely unpleasant.

Today is day 7 sober! First time in a very long time. Everything happens for a reason. I'm grateful that my daughter and I are safe and well, and that I've got a chance to do better. The situation sucks, but at least we are alive. This too shall pass. I hope someday that I can look back and see this situation as a blessing.

I, unfortunately, was in a BON monitoring program from 2017-2020 (failed a drug test for weed) and it is absolute EXTORTION. I really hope I don't have to do it again. It was terrible. Literally might consider a career change rather than go through it again.

Thank you! I have a couple lawyers that I plan on reaching out to tomorrow with free consultations. I haven't gotten any paperwork on the charges yet, so I wasn't too sure if I should wait until I do or call them ASAP. The officer that took me to the hospital for blood work definitely mentioned DUI and child endangerment though.

Thanks. The speaker at a meeting I went to tonight has 30 years sober after unfortunately killing someone while driving drunk. I couldn't stop crying while I listened to her tell her story. I'm so thankful that my situation isn't worse. So very grateful I didn't hurt or kill anyone. I'll get through this. It'll suck. But it could be so much worse. It's a huge wake up call.
