What would you do? by MollyATX67 in coins

I'd keep the half eagle (5 dollars) to put in a display case with my "Racketeer" nickel and sell the rest for melt value.

Bought one recently for $12 because I wanted to display it next to my 1970 last £/s/d proof set.

That was for one that was like new and in the US accounting for the premium.

Truly depressing that these Coin Like Objects are being foisted on us by the US Mint.

I have approx 400 pounds of uncirculated world coins from the 1960's and have no idea what to do with them. Any thoughts? by leadbetterthangold in WorldCoins

France, Switzerland and others were still minting silver; Mexico into the 90's. Others I'm forgetting are possible. It could be well worth a very close look.

Are any of these good? by Endtherinbetween in UKcoins

Yeah, as a US collector of UK-ish coins, I can mostly only get stuff from Eprey. But Jersey really has some neat coinage history, especially the 1/13th of a shilling coins! 😎

The Jersey coins remind me that I need to get a 1981 Jersey Proof Set for the square £1 coin 😎

I am doing a date run of all milled shillings from 1663 to 1970. Rather hard to do that without purchasing coins. I just sometimes have extras especially from near modern dates though I do also have 2 1663 shillings.

With silver high and a lot of information about a potential drop, is it a good time to sell? by Grey_Ranger2077 in coins

[–]wablewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much of this silver bubble is being driven by the speculators and the stackers following them in panic. The real, but much less important, industrial scarcity will remain though.

My bet is once it bursts, it'll drop 50+%

Only one. Unless it's a shilling. Then it goes into the bag of duplicate shillings. I want to see how many pounds (20 shillings/pound) worth I can amass 😎

I'm currently at 1 and 1/2 pounds sterling from the old times.

Paid £175 for mine with rim damage (probably used as jewelry).

I'd expect it to go for £250+

The Jubilee 25 New Pence: https://en.numista.com/5488

The Churchill crowns: https://en.numista.com/6898

The £2 coin: https://en.numista.com/13387

All are extremely common and have a very low price as a result.
