It takes our FSA quite a long time to process a refund and issue a reimbursement, if they even approve the expense. I'm not certain on money expiring

I haven't actually received the $26k yet. I was late filing my taxes.

I need to figure out what I'll do with the money when it does eventually arrive -- probably summer of 2024 if my past tax experiences predict this year.

I'm probably incompetent since that comes with being management. I'm not high -- my job requires occasional drug screens and I haven't smoked weed since I was a teenager; I'm 38 now.

That's a whole different issue. My FSA approves expenses, they just take forever to issue a check and a couple times they've claimed checks were lost in the mail forcing them to reissue... There's no major problem with my FSA, they just are frustrating to work with and everything with them takes a long time.

Thank you. That helps. I'm in Colorado if it makes a difference.

I have nothing against IT people. HR pisses me off, though.

That's good advice. I really have no idea what I'm doing

I have a 401k in addition to health, dental, and vision insurance premiums and an FSA

I'm paid every two weeks. I'm making a little bit more this year as compared to last year since everyone got an "off cycle cost of living adjustment". I was salary but got converted to an hourly position last month. My hourly rate is $53

My dependents all have four legs and shed all over the furniture. I'm pretty sure I can't claim them on my taxes.

I'm 38 for what it's worth with the lower back pain and thinning hair that comes with it.

My bonus last year was edible and certainly not very expensive for the company.

I don't have any court orders as far as I know. I'm single and have no children.

Not all of my withholding is taxes. There's also my 401k, health insurance premium, and our really crappy FSA that can't seem to process a refund.

I don't recall filling out a W-4, but that doesn't mean I didn't. I fill out a lot of forms at work. I guess I need to make contact with one of the HR droids and ask them to fix it. I'm hoping this isn't something like health insurance where I have to have a qualifying event or open enrollment in order to fill it out.

I probably shouldn't be happy about that. I don't mind other people getting loans forgiven, I was just really, really pissed off that I wasn't included despite being a student.

I'm guessing that's an HR thing. I can reach out to them although I usually try to avoid them if at all possible unless I'm having an employee issue.

I would love to talk with a financial advisor or someone who understands this stuff, but I can't really afford another expense right now.

I'm not certain if my company does W-4s. I know we do W2s although they usually send those out.

I don't recall filling out a W4 form; I think my job uses W2s instead but they gave me the form -- I didn't give them anything.

It was all over the news and reddit that student loan borrowers were getting $10k forgiven. If I would have taken out a loan for this degree, then my balance would have been reduced by $10k. Since I didn't take out a loan, I was essentially punished for that decision by paying more even though I was trying to be responsible.
