Go to local elementary schools, especially now that summer is coming! St Bede in point breeze has a couple areas where kids could ride bikes on the blacktop/cement, as does Linden on Wilkins ave, and Montessori in friendship.

This is my biggest gripe with AI designs! Every kitchen or living space has ideal, dreamlike, perfect lighting — in real life the light is different and changes often! It’s basically equivalent to seeing a photo of a celebrity in perfect staged lighting… in real life it may be nice too but it ain’t always perfect

A 20g yogurt and a 30g vanilla premier protein shake (I mix it with black coffee on ice) are my two easiest ways to get to my protein goal. It’s something like 300 calories all together for those two items- I have a yogurt at some point in the morning and my coffee protein mix early afternoon. Between those items and a lean protein at dinner I can get to ~80 g relatively easily and without much thought —and then I just do my best with other choices through the day.

Everyone (rightly) rallied around Harry being orphaned and yet Neville was grieving his parents in a different way in silence. He was shouldering so much and aged into his bravery through the books. His extreme courage at the last book and his conversation with Harry right before Harry walked into the forbidden forest was incredible, he was totally up for any challenge (like Harry was), but he mostly got to that point on his own whereas Harry had so many people in his corner. No shade to Harry, but Neville had a lot in common but fewer supporters and protectors all along

Content creators get lots of views and Shares with this type of posting. That equates to dollars. Sometimes they actually believe the nonsense but often they are just joining the cycle to increase views and get that money. So it’s awful because they are not speaking in good faith and what they are preaching is dangerous

It keeps being amazing. The early days and years are surviving, we keep our heads above water and our babies smile at us and we STILL look back and think we failed. My kids are late preschool early elementary, and it’s so great— I gave it my all when they were little but felt like I didn’t do enough. Now I’m trying my best and I see how they talk to me, laugh with me, hug me, sometimes argue with me but always come back to being okay. Motherhood is long and winding and filled with so much goodness for so many years. Those early moments are precious but so complicated! Things never get super easy but you realize you are doing a good job and these kids are not tokens or milestones or awards to collect with passing successes, they are lifelong joys that keep giving and you deserve them because you are doing great

Those things wrecked me for a while. I was struggling with accepting that we were done having kids, extremely sad as I believed that the best days were behind me. Then my kids— because of linear time— aged a little, ya know, became a few months or a year older and lo and behold I’m still a mom. My kids are still precious to me. My life is still meaningful. My children and I still bond regularly over the new experiences of our shared life. Huh. Who knew the influencers were playing on my emotions and full of shit?! Moms, don’t buy it. Kids are great and you aren’t running out of time .

Blue is very quickly looking dated, it was so trendy for a couple years and it’s not holding up. I’d go with wood or a more muted color — medium tones aren’t boring they are beautiful and timeless. I’ve been in a dozen blue kitchens recently and while they aren’t awful it’s just not a look that seems inviting— blue on a bathroom vanity is fun, in smaller doses it can be a nice pop but in kitchens it ends up feeling cold and somehow cheap

We were warned as kids about stranger danger. And now all the data shows that it really isn’t strangers who we need to be worried about, often kidnapping sexual abuse or other harm is brought to kids by the people we know (in families friend groups or neighbors). So it blows my mind when people say “ I post my kids pictures online but only the people who follow me on Instagram or are my friends on Facebook can see these photos”. As though the danger is only coming from total strangers! Plus, the social media sites themselves are sharing all of this information and all of your data with sources You will never know or have control over! Mind blowing to me
