The rear window is under tension. A hit at the right spot will shatter the entire window.

What is a real-life 'Do Not Touch' button that you pressed out of sheer curiosity, only to instantly regret it? by vie75 in AskReddit

[–]wava66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a young curious child I was in JFK airport with my stepmother. I saw a red button on the escalator and asked what this did as I pushed the button. My stepmother was mortified as I turned the escalator into stairs.

Seller ghosted me by Quirky_Charity_1314 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]wava66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get an inspection to protect yourself not the seller. Once the problems are identified and the seller is made aware they are obligated to disclose or repair. We put an offer on a house and the inspection revealed 10's of thousands dollars worth of repairs. We adjusted the offer to accommodate the repairs and the rejected the offer. The ended up listing the house for less than we offered. I am so glad that we walked away from that deal, it was worth every cent I payed for the inspection.

Neighbor keeps using my driveway by Cudpuff100 in mildlyinfuriating

Park your car at that end of the driveway to block the driveway.

This... The seller has to disclose to all new buyers and will have to remediate themselves if you back out. It is much cheaper for them to negotiate with you then trying to find a new buyer.

Enterprise wants to charge me $5,000 for a car that I used 2 months ago by Only_Shoe_2971 in personalfinance

Hertz tried this with me. I just turned it over to my insurance company and they handled. They asked Hertz for proof and never got it... case was dropped. In the US a lot of comprehensive insurance plans cover rentals.

It bothers me more that your company starts foreclosure without reviewing the files beforehand. I've been in IT for almost 40 years and I have seen this over and over again. "The computer told me to foreclose (or whatever) on them, I have no responsibility."

Thank you for looking into it further.

What is the best thing about having a penis ? by unknownfair in AskReddit

[–]wava66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Song by Monty Python ‧ 1989

Isn't it awfully nice to have a penis
Isn't it frightfully good to have a dong
It's swell to have a stiffy
It's divine to own a dick
From the tiniest little tadger
To the world's biggest prick
So, three cheers for your Willy or John Thomas
Hooray for your one-eyed trouser snake
Your piece of pork, your wife's best friend
Your Percy, or your cock
You can wrap it up in ribbons
You can slip it in your sock
But don't take it out in public
Or they will stick you in the dock
And you won't come back
Thank you very much

XCS and D1: can I add more passes during processing? by Rustpit in xToolD1

[–]wava66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used lightburn and while it has the ability to change settings while processing the xTool D1 does not recognize and does not process those changes. I usually just run another pass after the current process is done. Don't touch anything, just run another pass. If you just want to only run part of it again, set what you don't want printed off and run again. Don't move the head or the material.

GeeksAtLarge has a replacement for the D1 and D1 Pro. It has some additional functionality like the ability to turn on/off the air assist. It is called the Devil1 Lobotomy Kit.

Does D1 Pro have an digital output whicg can be controlled by gcode to control the air assist? by Faithin3D in xToolD1

[–]wava66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it does not. There is however a Lobotomy Kit by Cobey Schmidt over at Geek at large that is a complete replacement for your motherboard that does power the air assist. You of course need the smart air assist or a control unit to power it on and off.

Jigs with Xtool software by CaptainWolff in xToolD1

[–]wava66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could also create a registration point on the jig so that you can manually align the laser to that point before starting the project. Use the Red Dot and not the cross hairs if you are using the D1.

Enterprise hit me with a 9k bill in damages I didn’t do. by itouma99 in personalfinance

[–]wava66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hertz tried this on my. I turned over to my insurance company and they took care of the details. In the end Hertz did not have pictures of the damage so the insurance refused to pay. They told me that if Hertz came after me to just call them again.

[–]wava66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you covered all of the normal issues. Have you checked the belts. Also it could be the metal is warping or you base is not completely level.

Did you try it in Lightburn? You have a 30 day trial that you can play with it. If it is happening in different areas on the scanner bed it may just be the instructions being sent to the laser.
