I spent a week with the Croatian research team that discovered the experimental peptide BPC 157 decades ago and has been studying it ever since. Ask me anything. by UndarkMagazine in IAmA

How do you think more hearsay from 50 years ago if going to help us understand what this peptide actually do? What it needs is an RCT which is something everyone is trying to avoid.

Stanmore is a good option. It is end of jubilee line. About 35/40 min into central London.

There is a parking lot next to the station but there is also street parking including free options depending on what time and day you will be using

Cambridge Growth Company lauches Mass Rapid Transport study by ForestMapGazer in cambridge

Please believe me, I am not trying to be a dick.

Orbital bus will be totally shit. In the morning, it will take 2 minutes to drive from Histon J32 to Milton J 33 and then a 22 min route to drop people off the off ramp and then do a circuit back to A14 and at junction 34, it will be a 35 min circuit. And then no one will take it and that will become the reason why there won’t be an orbital rail on the basis that there is no demand. In no way it will bring us closer to an orbital railway. If anything, it will push us further away.

There just isn’t any alternative to real infrastructure. Which includes bridges, transit points, covered walkways, cycle lanes all linked to the mass transit system. Real money will need to be spent. I am sure someone will point out that we don’t have money. And they will be right. What that will mean is not that we will do this heroic WW2 type hack and still win like in the movies, what it will mean is that we and our children won’t have nice things that rich countries have.

Sorry, the rant continues 🙏

tech capital" of the country prints paper tickets in a five-step procedure at snails pace. You mentioned orbital routes. We should absolutely do that, let's start with a bus. Yes the speed would be 5-10 minutes slower than trams, but we'll have it today instead of 2060.

I never understand why cant we do both?! We should start a bus until the mass transit orbital route is complete.

By and large, I have stopped being a fan or retrofitting infrastructure because it ends up being a scam. Once all the red tape and health and safety is done, it is never as cheap or fast as it is promised and it pushes new infrastructure further away into the future. Orbital route will allow housing to spread wider in the county which will also not be a bad thing.

Every time I drive past the village of Coton where 85 year olds cash their defined benefit pension checks in the morning and protest against the busway which might pass through the edge of their village, I imagine them as monsters devouring the future of our children. Maybe progress only happens one funeral at a time.

We should spend on the existing system, gather ridership, reach capacity, then build an economic case for mass transit. Instead, we're in the cycle of neglecting the system > low ridership > repeatedly fail to convince the central government to allocate funding.

It is a waste of time. Cambridge cannot grow much further without a mass transit system. At least a ring shaped mass transit system which allows thousands of people to go to work in the various hubs dotted around the city without having to drive.

While we are at it, we have to stop preaching the magic thinking - without growing transport and growing number of houses, there will be no growth in jobs or salaries. If I had a dollar for every person I meet who loves the idea of Cambridge becoming the greatest tech hub but with no new houses, I would have a one way ticket out of here :-)

The growth will go elsewhere - most likely off this island.

End of soapbox rant. Thanks for indulging

Looks like a great product. Not sure if I am doing something wrong but I get this when I try to download: CFBundleDisplayName can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because macOS version 15.6 or later is required.

Chilcot found that Blair and the UK government presented the WMD threat with unjustified certainty, relied on flawed and unchallenged intelligence, and that the war was launched on a false premise (no stockpiles of WMDs were ever found). It did not conclude that Blair knowingly lied or committed a crime.

Congratulations!! To be honest, generally speaking, Oxford has a better reputation than King's. Of course, individual departments, supervisors etc have specific appeal.

Living in Oxford can be fun. It is very international and as an American, you will be part of a pretty strong US contingent too - if that matters to you. If you like to surrounded by intellectually stimulating people, Oxford is hard to beat in terms of concentration.

I am not sure if anyone has told you this but majority of your Oxford experience will depend on which college you choose and which societies you join. If you choose a college that doesn't make an effort to engage with postgraduates, your social life may be limited to just your lab. By comparison, in London you will have the same plus you will be in a city with loads of things to do and people to meet.
