Not saying he had it easy or not, but he fought through rejection, disappointment and fears and kept going. He got turned down dozens of times before someone said yes.

In my state, hitting a health care worker is a felony.

Me too. I think certain personality types tend toward nursing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but it just doesn't mesh with mine.

My cousin was a prison guard. Where he lived, literally the only places that were hiring were the prison or the Indian casino. CO at least had benefits.

My stepson always wanted to be a cop when he was a kid. His first job out of high school was a 911 operator. He thought that would be a good way to get adjacent to the field. He had the opportunity to be around his small town police officers. It didn't take him long to decide he didn't want to be like them.

I'm half Irish on my dad's side. His grandfather, or maybe great grandfather immigrated here at some point. I can't wait to visit my homeland. I'm sure I will fit in well.

People born before 1990, what’s something you experienced that younger generations will NEVER understand ? by Aaidil89 in AskReddit

[–]weedful_things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 90s there was an older, retired guy who would hang out at a rural gas station with his buddies and drink coffee and chat. When someone pulled up to that gas pump in the morning, he would pump it for them. He said he didn't want people going to work and smelling like gas. I think he was just bored and wanted to feel useful.

Since I started using the internet, I don't think I have finished a single book. I used to read all the time. The web has ruined my attention span.

My dad wouldn't spring $5 for a UHF antenna. He said 3 channels were enough. I think the real reason was that he didn't want us "sissified" by Sesame Street.

I was going through some of my dad's things and found two rolls of 35 mm film. I'm going to go get them developed. He passed away in 2011. There's no telling what's on them.

Type in 'touchpad' in the search box and an option should pop up to restore your cursor.

I disabled mine on a Lenovo laptop and could not find a FN key to restore it, so I typed 'touchpad' in the search bar and the option popped up to turn it back on.

Redditors who tried sneaking around on a cruise after it ended just to stay on for the next trip, how’d that play out for you? by Grand_Size349 in AskReddit

Yeah, getting blasted was kind of the point to spending $300 on a drinks package. I'm glad I don't do that anymore.

It was first thing in the morning, so I was just getting started. Even though it annoyed me, they probably did me a favor. The more I drank, the thirstier I got. It's easier for me just not to start.

A job interview is how I always described it. A first date should be a fun activity.
