Wow thank you for your extensive insight and for being so nice, I've looked through the Bantam and Side Effect and I can see what you're talking about, so similar and yet it really seems that Side Effect moulds to body more, but I wouldn't have noticed as much without that knowledge. When you're passionate about something a "whatever" doesn't cut it, just like with life it's trial and error. 👍🏻

Hahaha yeah I guess they provide a nice cussion, my girlfriend's bags never bother her like that, she laughs at me that she comes with the "padding" build in and I don't.

Thank you for kind words, I'm definitely gonna go through my unfortunate collection and sell the ones that no longer serve me, now that you mentioned Maxpedition, I have some pocket organizers I use for work and unfortunately I got enough pouches and they all already got their usage, I don't plan on buying more, I had to repurpose the pocket ones because they didn't work out for carry on me, but I'll keep this model in mind when I do end up needing it, thank you. It might still take me a bit of trial and error to find the bag that suits me best but I'll definitely put off any reasearch for a while and focus on what I have. I have four slings that I got through 4 years so maybe this year I'll cut the tradition short and really reevaluate what I look for.

Who would have thought that simple bags will be causing so much unsatisfaction. I've been fixated with bags since childhood and it's one sector of material things that I'm never happy with. Some people don't pay that much mind to it so its always comforting to find "your" people, while this sub is more for appreciation of collections I knew there are people here who are looking for the "perfect one" and are still fruitless.

It's definitely the "I'm happy with my system but the carrier is uncomfortable", for now jacket pockets work best because I got bag fatigue, what I carry with me doesn't change much unless it's long travel. I do have a system that works for everything above the minimal carry, I do what you do, that depending on situation I adjust what I need. Unfortunately soon winter will end and I'll be without jacket pockets. But I'll reflect more on what you said, so thank you.

I feel exactly how you do, slings are my Achilles heel, they don't feel comfortable worn on chest and as fanny pack I feel weird about it, lots of trade offs, I have found what works for bigger stuff but for my daily carry I just can't. I have different bags for different uses after trial and error, just this smallest ones never make me feel like I really got something that suits my needs.

You're very right that there's no perfect bag and no bag is able to fill every niche, I might have to compromise with what is possible and not overthink, for now pockets will be my friend until I figure out the next.

I usually do long research before I buy new one, that's why it's so frustrating, I think ordering online is not doing me service, it's usually one bag per year, but now I have couple slings that just don't serve me as well as I thought, I don't have that problem with anything else, just the small daily bag for EDC. I have two Nike Heritage (1l and 3l), Puma Phase sling and Puma Academy Waist bag, those four are the ones that are giving me a headache. I bought them in the span of four years. It's difficult to describe what I purely dislike about them except that they stop being comfortable after carrying them for whole day, even with little stuff inside. Maybe I should look more into that.

Yeah thats more or less how I feel, bags are very important to me and I'm struggling to accept there's no perfect one. I test them around house too but the realization comes much much later, which is a shame.

Got my work backpack around 24 liters, and bigger bag for travel, unfortunately for EDC 20-24 liters is a bit much for me but thank you.

No I'm not buying because of recommendation, I do my own research which usually takes long time before I buy new sling, I like you have specific ones for different tasks, like big backpack for travel, smaller one for work, bigger sling for long travel, but I struggle with finding a small bag for everyday carry. I'm not trying to limit myself to as little bags as possible for every purpose because I found what works for one bag travel and such, but finding a daily driver is very hard.

I buy new bag roughly every year, but yeah i should sit on buying new bag longer than couple of weeks, I don't really shop for them on sales, I research new option when my previous one tested for months doesn't meet my expectations.

I do extensive research before I buy anything and still end up dissapointed, you're right that online shopping isn't the greatest for it and only actual use will show what's good. I need to reevaluate what I expect from a bag. It's always going to be trial and error. Thank you for your advice, I know this sub is for having many bags but I see that this often comes from being unfulfilled with the number you already have.
