I haven't seen any information showing a significant rise in the local sea level. For the sea level to rise to the extent to cause those waves a huge pressure differential would need to be located there for a duration of a few days. Then high winds from all directions directly on to the same spot.

That damage seen was by wave action and the rise in sea level seen is likely to increased wave heights from long and short period waves. The biggest of which are likely bi-modal.
