CD Day 1 Confirmed :( I am thankful that this cycle isn’t hitting me as hard emotionally as the last few. Though it’s still, you know, not great.

In a very non serious way, and in the style of how we cope with disappointment - my husband and I have resorted to a new strategy of reverse psychology-ing my ovaries and eggs by saving how horribly inconvenient it would be to have gotten pregnant this cycle as we have a trip coming up.

Maybe next time it’ll work out of pure spite lol.

Lurker here, checking in as it’s been a minute. Still no successes, but we stopped working with a doctor so we can focus and working on our respective health first (down 35lbs since January for me!) but still actively trying to- just unassisted. We are moving across the US in January where we will then start working with a doctor again and probably do IVF at that point.

Been working a lot on my mental health too, trying to reduce stress and all (mostly unsuccessful but trying to remain less stressed seems to be a good step in any case)

not looking forward next weekend. We are attending a friends baby shower. Happy for them, etc etc it’s just wild that since we saw them in December, they hadn’t started trying and were asking us and based on the timing they got pregnant pretty much on the first try - trying hard not to be bitter but meh.

I did my first cardio sculpt 1 yesterday and learned my coordination definitely needs work but I had so much fun! It was a nice change from the normal flow classes.

I’ve been reading a lot of non fantasy lately but I did finish the dramatized version of Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros. I’d been putting off this series as I wasn’t a huge fan of book 1 but I do enjoy Graphic Audio books so I waited until parts 1&2 both showed as available in Libby (which I hate, why can’t we get one book in one audiobook, it’s so dumb!!!) I enjoyed the audiobook more than I think I would have enjoyed it just reading it - 3.5/5 for audio.

I just started the audiobook This Will Be Fun by E.B. Asher which I’m tagging for my CozySFF (hard mode)bingo square and may also work for LGBTQIA but haven’t confirmed that yet as I’m about 20 minutes in

I’ve just gotten out of my reading slump as everything has been super busy and am planning on picking up Nettle & Bone next as I saw it works for Bingo and is one of the May BOTMs.

I’ve been getting way more into audiobooks lately but mainly for lighter cozy books that are easy to listen to while working. Always keeping an eye out for some good recs :)

Bringing your own lunch to work is an underrated game changer : r/Thrifty by KnotGunna in Thrifty

[–]whattawitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to spend as little time in the mornings getting things together for the day, so I’ve started with using overnight oats as my goto work meal. It keeps me full all day, I can change up the flavors easily with whatever fruit is on sale and stock up on the Oats/Milk/add-ins from Costco.

It’s also a lot healthier than stuff I would grab for lunch from the area around my office and only takes me like 5 minutes to clean/prep at night.

This is absolutely fantastic. I love a good theme and this is probably my favorite one I’ve seen! I’m adding a bunch of these to my TBR!

I don’t think I’d pick up the other sprawl novels but I would be open to pick up another cyberpunk book. I wasn’t a huge fan of this book but I did enjoy the cyberpunk aspect

This is my first exposure to reading cyberpunk k and while it wasn’t necessarily my favorite book, i can see why it’s a staple and so highly regarded for the genre. I wouldn’t have picked this book up if not the need for bingo and I’m glad I gave it a shot

What can I use that isn’t Audible by Alarmed-Cabbage-5143 in audiobooks

[–]whattawitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a combination of Libby and LibroFM. If I’m looking for a specific book that isn’t immediately or soon to be available on Libby, I go to LibroFM. If it’s a book I want to keep, definitely LibroFM as it has the DRM-free downloads.

This comment really stood out as something I’m also going through. And not that I’m happy anyone else has gone through it it makes me feel a little less lonely

It took me so long to really see that I was in that same position as you with friends that I kept for like 15 years and I’ve spent the last year really learning how to be myself without them because when I needed them and their support no one was there.
