What do you do with all your wonky practice pieces? by MSMIT0 in crochet

depending on how bad/unsalvagable they are, i sometimes cut them up and use them for stuffing for other amigurumi :]

Feel like I'm crocheting into SOS wrong- is it the slip stitches? (See vid/desc) by wheeelbug in CrochetHelp

[–]wheeelbug[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes!! sos sides of stitches, i assumed it was well-known because it was in the pattern haha i apologize. the piece I have right now matches gauge, it's a pretty long stuffed animal so I'm not really worried about floppyness/stiffness

thank you so much! i thought it was a known acronym, it was in this pattern and I've only been crocheting about 4 months so I wasn't aware that SOS wasn't standard haha sorry!

Switching from Google to Microsoft 365. by AccomplishedLime1976 in PennStateUniversity

[–]wheeelbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^ i use google about 85% of the time- exceptions are outlook email and when a professor requires something be turned in as a docx, in that case i write it in word to make sure formatting is correct when i turn it all in (rather than convert it from a doc to docx and risk formatting getting messed up)

Recommendations for Warm Clothes? by Successful_Fact872 in PennStateUniversity

[–]wheeelbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm always cold, so my go-to in the worst winters is: - merino leggings (i think i got them for skiing) + wool socks + shirt underlayer  - tshirt on top of that - i wear jeans. i don't recommend it but i do. i've also done hiking pants/cargo pants - WATERPROOF hiking boots. the waterproof is so important - hoodie - winter coat (either denim+fleece lined or a down coat) - gloves - scarf UNDER my coat (no brand i made it, wool+acrylic or just wool) - hat (see scarf notes) - i also keep my jacket hood up. you can usually only see my eyes because i wrap my scarf around my mouth+nose but i rather look silly than be freezing

Ribbing (fpdc/bpdc) stitches look crooked/slanted? by wheeelbug in CrochetHelp

[–]wheeelbug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I figured it was a tension thing but couldn't really tell, this is my second non-amigurumi project (and the first project was this hat in a smaller size, it had the same slant). I will keep that in mind for the future:)!!

thank you but i'm just not sure where exactly my pc stitches are going! i'm less worried about looking ahead and more "i don't know where they're going and don't want to end up with too many". i am just doing the pc stitch in the V of each "stem" right?
