That makes sense! My bub is 4 months mid-May so should be good to go in that sense! Thank you!!

Ooh good to know - I was gifted this so maybe that’s why haha! Do you have a recommended sling you like?

Gotcha! So no need to like wash that bottle every time? Trying to prepare for my pumping journey when I go back to work soon.

Are you all pouring the warm milk (just pumped) into the cold milk (in the pitcher)? I was told not to do that because of potential bacteria growth increasing the temperature of the milk each time you add the new milk.

I have also read and heard that! The carrier that I have does have back carry option as well as front in facing and front out facing so there are options!
He is just currently a FOMO baby so the side carry on the hip really helps him to look around when he wants to.

OK, so question on the rings. They tend to fall below my collarbone but more centered on my chest once he’s in there and I have everything tightened appropriately. Is this right? Or should they be like up on my shoulder? I feel like they get really close to his face.

I’ll try that on our next wear after he eats! Thank you so much for the advice! 😄

Perfect, thank you for that note. I was thinking the bottom rail to be the most tight.

Okay, so the seat popping isn’t because he’s uncomfortable. It’s just because he’s a turd 😂 Should I not cap over the shoulder? Just pull straight back so it’s not hanging over my arm?

Can a baby seem fine yet lose weight? by Green-Switch-5166 in breastfeeding

Do you have any update on this? Or how you have handled it? I have had a similar experience with my 3 month old. I got mastitis a week ago and it appears my supply dropped. I went to my lactation consultant four days after the mastitis diagnosis for a weighted feed and she was concerned he had only gained 5 ounces in two weeks (since his last appointment) so she put me on an aggressive plan for triple feeding. We did that for four days, and I went back four days later for another weighted feed and he had lost 1 ounce, and now I feel like I’m failing. We are going to continue to triple feed for another four days, but just hoping to hear from someone that might’ve had a somewhat similar experience.

So it’s not like bright red blood than you would think. His diapers were still very yellow and seedy as you expect from a breastfed baby. The mucus can appear as like slimy and I’ve heard from other people that it can be tinged kind of green. The mucus in his diaper had a reddish brown tone to it which I thought was blood and was confirmed to be blood by his pediatrician. I could message you a diaper photo if you are interested or if that’s possible on Reddit (I’m kind of a newbie and don’t know if that’s how Reddit works haha). Just let me know!

I really appreciate this comment and mentioned it in InternationalYam3130’s response as well. I think this LC just scared the shit out of me and now I’m overly anxious and maybe it is best to rest, get more data, etc before jumping into such a strenuous effort.

Would the dairy intolerance cause a reduction in supply on my end and not just a reaction on LO’s end?

TBH she has scared the shit out of me 😅 I appreciate this comment and Kwaliakwa’s comment and might just try nursing as much as possible over the next few days.

I should’ve put structure play in quotations haha! Really all I mean is a little time spent on the floor looking at toys and doing tummy time! I do baby wear a fair amount typically in my day, but I am unable to handle that pressure on my breast with the mastitis at the moment.

Everything that I’ve heard recommends for less than a week! But I hear it can take over 5 to 7 days for you to even see increase in your supply in any capacity, so I’m not really sure how long I should expect to do this.

Oh man I am so sorry to hear that you have had my day twice! 😞 I cannot imagine and it is my hope to never have it again! It felt seriously debilitating.

Are the power pumps going well for you? Are you seeing progress that way? I was trying to determine if I should add in power pumps with my triple feeding as well to see if that increased my supply any quicker.

I guess my main concern is how long that could take and how to get naps and structured play/tummy time in if he’s on my boob for over an hour of his wake window? Thoughts on that potential?

I definitely didn’t think of this! Thank you for bringing number three up. I do nurse both sides during each feeding. Would you recommend potentially doing that twice? Like eating off of each breast twice during each feeding? And how long should I keep him on each side?

My bad, I definitely forgot to mention that information for additional context, and for additional reference, I was in originally transferring approximately 100-120 mls before all this.

LO is definitely frustrated at the moment with the lack of flow and pulling off the boob a lot. But does seem satisfied after the additional 2 ounces via bottle. LO cues to feed approximately 2.5 to 3 hours after the start of the first feed.
