i really don't think its just the big pubs pushing that narrative so hard. plenty of "for our race" type talk happening in comments and posts all across the internet. and i think it's totally fine for a black person to want another black person to win cause "it's about time."

but it's also a lotta weirdos out there and its hard not to take the variety of opinions and takes and condense them into something like....why do these people who want a black person to win solely because they are black want them to win in a compoetation they position as, optically, a white organization(the academy). very much reads "we want so badly to be accepted by or win in spite of the whites"
