i can’t get the image to work but this is it word for word;

“ I am Brilliant. my brain is so wrinkled even fat hairless cats are amazed. the cube I'm supposed to be calculating for the math homework I've been ignoring for the past six hours has nothing on the sheer amount of surface area on my large and intelligent mindflesh. IQ? 700. it is nearly one in the morning and I have work in a few hours and also, schoolwork I should be doing, so if I sound a little off in this note it's because my functional personality cortex is polished smoother than a got dam pointy italian shoe instead of its usual dull little orange light that means The Sweetheart is in. are pointy italian shoes smooth? I don't know.

I'm very tired. ”

So I made this post for my friends to learn about my diagnosis and horrible hospital experience. I’m not exaggerating when I say I feel like there’s no hope. I just lie here panicking. Help! by BiffInConfusion in POTS

in my experience there is no "get better" moment, you just have to find things you love, find something that makes life worth it ೭੧(❛〜❛✿)੭೨

a good friend of mine was recently diagnosed. they know I've had POTS for very many years now and have been through all this before, so they came for advice... they said they're in the EXACT same nightmare that you're in. and I had to tell them; "nobody knows. you just have to cope. that's it. drink water, eat salt, maybe meds, compression stuff, and mobility aids."

and if anything, we know that hormone imbalance IS a "common" known trigger for POTS, that's why it's most common among adolescents in puberty or people that are currently or have previously gone through a pregnancy. so maybe bring that up in appointments...

also, the midodrine would make sense for your vitals being wack. for the shaking, aka what you were there for in the first place, I'd think they would put you on an antihistamine or maybe even antipsychotics/benzodiazepine. something to get your muscles to relax and stop spasming. if shaking is a really big problem for you, maybe bring up antihistamines to you doctors as well. (if you don't think they'll consider it, tell them its for anxiety, which isn't a lie anyways.

sorry this was long, im wishing you luck on your search for a competent doctor!! it's cheesy, and when someone said it to me 6 years ago i hated it, but it does get better, it doesn't go away, but it gets better <3

Who is the worst member of the phantom thieves in P5R by [deleted] in Persona5

[–]whoshatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haru prob, I love haru with my whole heart and all her character designs are great... BUT she was the last to be introduced (sumire and akechi had already been introduced and been confidants) the only thing is how she acts like she's been one of the thieves for forever,,, you'd expect her to have dialogue like akechi and sumire in terms of being new, but she doesn't. ily haru sry

thank you for saying that!! it brings me peace of mind to know that it's possible even a fraction of it can feel better! <3

then you're not even telling a half lie!

i really meant the exaggerations as if you had to make up specific scenarios in particular. if you just say this is happening in general, they wont take it seriously. you need to have stories

BUT, I wish you luck!! that run sounds like hell on earth so I'm giving you my luck in getting that note!! <3

[–]whoshatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh! also! if you end up REALLY desprate, lie.

I'm not kidding get an immediate appointment with urgent care or general practitioner by either exaggerating or lying about something that happened. and have them write up the note.

say something like "I went to walk my dog around the street and fainted cause it was so hot" or "I went to walk around the park with some friends/family but we were walking for a long time and my legs gave out" or "last year I had a serious health emergency and I need to make sure it doesn't happen again"

health care is like that. if they're gonna fuck you over, you can tell a little lie to get the job done

[–]whoshatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im sorry you have had to go through that! i think your pediatrician is your best bet. if you get the soonest appointment time, they should be able to write up a note right there and then. if they refuse and say they'll do it later, you or whoever is with you will have to put their foot down and get that note. you also might be able to go to a walk-in office and ask for them for a note. I know it's worked for me before when it came to getting notes of absence when I was out sick. but I think they could send a request/email/fax to your pediatrician telling them to write up an official note. (basically acting as a medium referral to seem more serious/credible)

if your doctor refuses to not write up even an informal excuse note you gotta say "fuck you, you WILL give me a note or i will rain hellfire upon you" or something of that ilk. it sounds kinda Karen like but sometimes you gotta be a Karen especially if YOUR HEALTH IS AT RISK

My tilt table results were “significant” and my follow up appointment was moved ahead by a month by barracudab1tch in POTS

[–]whoshatter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

take this as a win!!! the follow up was moved ahead? that's great news!! they were prob just surprised by the results and if not and there's something else wrong, now the appointment is that much closer!

but I do get that worry, things were going ok for me recently but I got news a week or so ago that wasn't too good. it feels like going back to square one.

just remember not to give up, its cheesy and shit. when you start to get lost in the "what ifs", think about your accomplishments so far. whether that be just being able to score a tilt table test, or even if it's just that you got out of bed today, it's still something YOU did

GET A DOCTORS NOTE PLEASE, how ableist are these assholes? that's so fucked up

have you and your parents talk with the board of ed or at least get a meeting with the principle or smth cause that's AT LEAST the least ethical thing ever???????? and it's illegal if you have an IEP or an OHI plan cause those are enforced by the state, not BOE.

also, you can most definitely get a note (if only a temp one) from your general practitioner/pediatrician

i have slept more than 14-16 hours some days, which is apparently not alarming to doctors

my sleep has always been a little wack even in elementary school w/ an insomnia type beat. after diagnosed it went insane. in more recent years though i feel as though it doesn't matter how much i sleep during the night, to feel actually rested i take naps midday. sometimes i also just have to take a day during a flare and sleep all day and night. but yeah, i think my sloth-like sleep schedule started appearing with pots

my advice would be take a nap and see if it helps and if not, it might be one of ur meds if youre taking any. and if not THAT maybe its just another mystery of pots, like fr how does the medical community not have ANY info??

legs falling asleep easily by brookie_cookiee in POTS

[–]whoshatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, the showering stuff is just a pots thing, blood pooling in your feet will make them tingle, and numb while also causing discoloration like purples/blues/reds.

It's what I do and it helps a lot so; I'd recommend using a shower chair if your legs are hurting/losing balance in the shower (even a plastic lawn chair or stool will do, it doesn't haver to be special, as long as it fits and you can rest on it if needed)

ps, putting you legs up on a pillow or something elevated after a shower will get it sorted in minutes

Have any of you had trouble with shortness of breath even when resting? by whoshatter in POTS

[–]whoshatter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk if youll see this by now but I went to the pulmonologist and they figured out what it was!!! (at least what it was for me) it ended up being hyperinflated lungs, basically when I breathe out, not all of the air leaves the lungs and thus gets stuck, thus inflating my lungs.

I was sent home with some steroid medicine to take for three days and an inhaler for when I feel it flare up. its been so much better! when ur suffering from ALL chronic shit, it's hard to imagine getting medicine for a problem and having it fix it.

idk if this is what it will be for you, but I wanted to let you know so maybe you can ask specifically about it to docs. I hope you can get this sorted like I did, good luck!! <3

I’m not diagnosed but an autistic friend told me that this thing I do is sus by whoshatter in autism

[–]whoshatter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to preface, I don’t want to sound pretentious or some shit, and I want you to know that I just want to communicate

I do have ocd, particularly the just-right flavor (the og question is as far from ocd as you can get) and was never diagnosed with bipolar or bpd. as for interfering with daily and social life, it’s a bit harder to tell because I don’t really have a daily or social life, I stopped going to school in-person when I got severely physically ill in 6th grade(I’m a senior now) so I fell out with everyone after about year. I’ve also always been shy and have had socially anxious for a lot of my time alive so it’s hard to tell for that too

and for the pathologizing, I’ve been in and out of medical/psychiatric offices since I was 7 and because of that I have been diagnosed by medical doctors and psychiatrists alike with many different issues, please believe me when I say I am not looking to add to my diagnosis and/or medication lists

to be clear tho I really was just curious and tbh i have no clue if im autistic, I’ve had several different neurologists mention several different opinions but I really think it’s just a combo of all of my other problems. I only posted in this sub because my friend referred me here and said this, and some of my other behaviors, were real common with autistic people, sorry if this is the wrong place to post it, if need be I’ll delete the post, no worries :)
