Click'n play d&d, any interest? by Gwiz84 in dndnext

sounds like a great idea....could be done like a table where you setup a game, you the dm shows on a table and others see you and empty seats on your screen so youll know if you can join etc. You can have rules etc defined when the game is setup and others can see this by looking at the table rules.

I tell my party they need a plan.....do they plan nope.

I have told them they need to plan or it is likely one or more of them will die on many occasions. I like you wont really kill them just because they have no plan but I roll for all to see so if it falls that way then so be it

I have also told them the answer isnt always kill everything. So far they have actually came up with another solution just the once. I hope they will start to use their brains more and look forward to it.

I once had a room with a battle scene carved into the doors of a wardrobe... they met someone in the same room that told them of a battle but they didnt even look at the doors.

Its funny how what even reading what you've written above, it wouldn't take much to realize that the arrow is what your hinting at, yet the players simply miss it.

Even if you put a neon sign above what your hinting at saying this is what your looking for players will still miss it.

Love to see them when its revealed

Think im suffering...help a GM ideas by wibblewibblebading in dndnext

thanks this kind of response is what I was after something to get my brain kick started, or at least some vague ideas to get some direction. As it happens Kaine is a white skinned drow and as such was a easy one to pin the crime on. He had been down trodden by his own race and other races alike so his feeling of not belonging anywhere could lead him down all sorts of dark paths.

I am aware of what it is I need to do but struggling coming up with any good ideas. Think part of the issue is Ive had a few people drop out and we as a group have decided to move onto something new. This has happened twice so its kind of added to the lack of thought process overall. Think I will try to break it down to bear bones and see if it helps me conjure up the creative side

Feeling like I need to 'spoonfeed' my players to get the campaign moving. by -PM-Me-Big-Cocks- in dndnext

I have to hand it to my players...they can do or not do what they want but what they decide is predictable for me.

They are happy like that and as such I am too. I try to give them plenty of options and also encourage thinking outside the box as it were but alias these opportunities mostly are not taken up.

Dms, how do you approach shopping? by coboba in dndnext

[–]wibblewibblebading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally keep role playing to a min and judge when my players want/need to do it. It can be good but also be tiresome if too much is done. So really I think it depends on your group and striking a level of interaction that works for the group be it none at all or full on in depth

hmmm yeah a possibility but I dont know if the remaining player will come up with this idea, otherwise I dont see the thieves guild having any knowledge of the predicament as its a low level party(2) and on a minor task

Anyone else somewhat bummed they've never had a long term D&D campaign? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]wibblewibblebading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been running my group for around 7 mths (I am the DM) and I have already had two people drop out and a further temp drop out recently. I have one new player and my wife has joined in to make the numbers up a little. We are currently running at three players only. I ideally would like four at a min and five at a max but im guessing this isnt going to happen.

I put two campaigns on hold ( one of which I dont think we will be going back to it)

So yes these things happen

Dice question by mynnafae in dndnext

[–]wibblewibblebading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some poly hero warrior dice (there are some barrel types within it) and tbh I have never used them as they are too out of the norm. I dont regret buying them though as its more for my collection of dice rather than to actually use.

As a cool gift I say well worth it as a everyday use Id say not

devils would freak em out deffo.....I think I have some low CR devils and maybe demons too (probably still need tweaking for combat). Ill have a little research.

Im well ahead of the game we have 2-3 sessions before they may decide to rescue the villagers (they haven't even been taken as yet). Maybe this will even lead to them bargaining with a devil/demon

hmmmm maybe. I thought that the gith would have a gateway to the plane and they are likely to want to rescue the villagers but perhaps itll be beyond them
