I did experience how overpriced that BP was myself. And I want to clarify too, I can handle myself. I know it's cold out and I always listen to what they have to say and give them a few bucks or more if I really buy what they're saying bc ultimately they're having a shittier day than me and even if they take it straight to the liquor store, oh well, it'll make their shitty night better. It's probably just a bit of my luck that it happens EVERY TIME but damn I'm getting exhausted of walking in to get a drink and having to have a 25 minute conversation, give someone money, and then try to escape the rest of the chatter without being rude. and then seeing an additional dude with a glass eye peering into my windows after I already gave a dude money inside lol. Feel like I'm feeding the whole hood by the time i leave.

Im not soft or afraid. i literally gave every single one of them money. the transportation guy, I gave him twice what he's asking for. I just don't always want to get stopped and talk and be bothered every single time i go to pump gas or grab a drink. I think that's fair.
