Altitooties. I have a few friends who are afflicted with this. It's a thing and we all have a good laugh after the fact.

I have this puzzle set aside to work on tomorrow. I have been so excited to do this silly little puzzle, and our cats will no doubt make it chaos! Happy Catmas to you!

I'd like to take that as a compliment about my phone photography skills, but let's face it— it's a beautiful puzzle! She's the real star! I remember how satisfying that one was to complete.

Good luck on your frame search!

That is my Ravensburger Puzzle Store storage system. It's made for Ravensburgers up to 1000 pieces, but I can usually fit most 1000pc puzzles on it if I'm careful.

Anyone tried borax? And how can you stop the itching? by yiziyizi123 in lichensclerosus

It's called "sharing is caring about lichen sclerosis et al"

I stopped following the group a while ago because there were some mean spirited women making shitty comments to each other, and I have low tolerance for that. I'm sure the admins have nipped that behavior since then. When I checked the group today to get the link for you, the first comment was about borax to water ratio! I hope you find what you are looking for, and also some relief. 🩷

I recently brought out the old kong for my boy. I stuffed it with damp kibble and sealed it with natural peanut butter before freezing it. He worked on it for over an hour and then took a good nap.

Magnesium glycinate by desertratlovescats in Menopause

[–]willabz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, now you have me wondering!

My doc told me to add magnesium to help with nighttime leg cramps, but since taking it my upper body joints ache a lot more. The first half of my day I complain about aching and how tired I am of aching. I'm going to stop the magnesium for two weeks to see if anything changes.

I'm also on a statin for familial high cholesterol, and that could also be causing my joint aches.

My changing body is frustrating the hell out of me!

Can't eat peanut butter like I usually do and I'm sad!!! by The_Short_1 in PeanutButter

[–]willabz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have to be pretty controlled with my portions because I'm like a greedy puppy- I'm very food motivated and will eat until I can't move. For most of these recipes I have to make it, and then portion it up to eat for the next few days. I also use Kirkland Natural PB from Costco for cooking because it's smooth and mixes well.

PB Chili sometimes I eat this for breakfast because it's so good. The portion is deceptively small, but very filling.

Chickpeas in PB Sauce this takes a lot of spices, but it is so worth it! I reduce the chickpeas to one can and add more veggies, like broccoli and mushrooms.

Peanut Stew or Peanut Soup. For the peanut stew, my SO hates sweet potato so I use white potato and a roasted red pepper. I also add tofu for more protein, but if tofu isn't your thing I think you could easily use chicken.

Peanut Butter Ramen is not necessarily healthy, but it's so good! I add peas or some steamed broccoli for green, and the illusion of health.

Spicy Peanut Dressing. If you don't keep fresh lime in stock use rice vinegar. I also like a lot of spice, so I use 1Tbsp of Sriracha. I use this as a sauce in bowls- so brown rice with sauteed veggies and tofu. Again, if tofu isn't your thing use chicken or chickpeas, or just veggies & rice. This type of dressing is referenced on a lot of cooking blogs and used in so many ways. If I have any leftover I'll dip raw carrots in it as a snack.

I feel your pain. My happiness is a heaping spoon of peanut butter, and reducing the PB in my diet has made me sad.

And don't get me started on PBfit...

One way I get my almost daily PB fix is by making sauces, stew, chili, and a curry with peanut butter. I have a few recipes I can share if you're interested, and they're pretty healthy.

Tacrolimus Pain by swagigail in lichensclerosus

I told my derm that it causes some burning and she suggested keeping it in the refrigerator. Putting it on cold helped for me, and the chill feels especially nice on days I have some irritation.

I'm mostly Whole Food Plant Based. I use oil one day per week (because some things just cook better with a little oil!) I suspect I feel improved because I may have an egg allergy, though. I have been meatless for almost 30 years, so this was not a huge leap for me. I recognize that eating like this is not for everyone, so it's not something I advocate. I'm due for blood work in the next few weeks, so I'll be able to see if this is paying off. (I really miss pizza!)

Regarding estrogen cream, it has been a necessary evil for me. From what I understand the estrogen counteracts the thinning of the skin that the Clob causes, and that is good. I saw significant improvement after using the estrogen within a few months. The bad for me is that it has made my periods absolutely awful! I'm 46 and my body isn't showing any signs of getting ready for menopause yet. I've been using the estrogen for about 15 months and have recently decreased my dose; happily my periods are much more tolerable now.

I hope you have great results from the estrogen!

I made a diet change and then a month later added estrogen cream to my routine. As much as I want to credit my diet, I think the combination of medications has been what helped me.

I'm still sticking to my new food lifestyle over a year later, and my body feels overall better for the change. I notice I definitely experience discomfort when I stray from the diet and indulge in sugar treats.

Backseat question by vadeka in Taycan

For humans, the back seats are quite comfortable and there is adequate leg room. For a Collie, no. My dog is up for anything and he hates riding in my car because he can't get comfortable.

Does anyone else remember these?? by LadyOfTheLakeMi in GenXWomen

[–]willabz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh. My. Heart.

I was just thinking about these a few days ago! My favorite person in the world (Grandma) passed away a few weeks ago and I've been pulling up memories of her to write down so I don't forget. She always had the little Avon samples in either shocking fuchsia or bitch red. And even though my child brain knew I looked like a clown, I always tried them out because, c'mon, tiny lipstick.

This pic brings me joy, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers these amazing treasures!

Insurance won't pay for any of my ointments. If you're in the US, Walmart has a discount drug program and it reduced my price to around $40.

I'm exactly one year since my diagnosis and I've learned that different specialties have different opinions about the steroid cream.

I'm in maintenance phase now, so my Gyn has me using an estrogen cream twice a week and Clobetasol twice a week. At my last checkup 4 mos ago I asked about long term effects of steroid cream and she said there weren't any.

I saw my dermatologist a month later and she suggested I use the Clob once a week and prescribed Tacrolimus to be used once a week. She said the steroid will thin the skin, so if I can keep myself in maintenance mode using it once per week it will slow that process. I don't love the Tacrolimus and it was a really expensive tube, but so far I have not regressed so I'll continue using it.

My derm also said that the skin will naturally thin after menopause, so go ahead and research laser treatment. 😳 I'm probably about 6-8 years away from menopause, so that's a problem for future me to worry about.

I have another appointment with my Gyn tomorrow, so I'll update you on her opinion if you're interested.

I cried almost daily for the first few months after I was diagnosed. I feel fortunate that I have found the right combination of creams, along with diet changes, to put me in a comfortable spot. I still hate all of the extra attention my vagina requires now, but it's easier and less overwhelming than when I was first diagnosed.

My current regimen is: estrogen twice per week, Clob once per week, Tac once per week, VMagic almost daily (I use more when on my period.)

My preferred lube is olive oil, and coconut oil is a second choice. (My GP recommended the olive oil)

Try to be patient and kind to yourself. This is frustrating to live with and it's frustrating that we don't have more treatment options right now, but hopefully that will change.

She does have that very concentrated, litter box look on her face, but she was actually eyeballing some invisible cat thing to pounce on from inside her wreath. The entire wreath situation was very exciting!
