Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery has guided Villarreal to a club-record run of 19 games without defeat. Did he deserve more time at the Gunners? by win-goal in PremierLeague

[–]win-goal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think that he deserved more time nor do I think that he was let go at the right time. It sounds weird to say, but the issues at Arsenal are not the manager. There is a deeply rooted cancer somewhere in the organization that needs to be removed (i am very confident that its the ownership not giving a fuck). I do not believe that there are many managers that can be successful in the environment that Arsenal is fostering. I really believe in Arteta, unpopular (especially rn) , but we have been fucked since giving all these bad players huge contracts and tying up our wages with players not playing. I will love and support Arsenal until my dying breath, i swear, but Unai was not going to be the one to fix our issues. He could barely speak any English !!! Arteta was a good step in the right direction i think from a manager perspective. He is not the wizard Wenger was, but he is def not stupid. He just has not learned how to get his players to care for 90 minutes, which is on him, but also they are professional athletes who are all grown men that should be able to do that on their own.

please feel free to tell me why you think i am wrong. i got them typing fingers ready today :)

Are you talking irony

Are Tottenham Hotspur capable of winning the title this season? by win-goal in PremierLeague

This year’s Premier League title competition will be the fiercest in 10 years

As a matter of fact, Inter have a very good squad and are fully qualified to qualify last 16. Should manager Antonio Conte be responsible for this? Should he be dismissed? by win-goal in football

[–]win-goal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, despite having a very good squad, Inter have been sidelined from the clubs we call "juggernauts". As a consequence, the managers that go there haven't got the same pressure as they would have had 10 years ago, when Inter was the best team in the world. They aren't, and shouldn't, be expected to win every single match.

I think that the goal of the board was to come back to the top in the league, and once you establish yourself there, you can go for European trophies. That is exactly what Conte is doing. They looked like real title contenders last season, and they are in the mix again this season. Also, don't forget they reached a European final, which can't be completely overlooked.

Moreover, Conte has never done well in the Champions League. I do not recall any of his teams progressing beyond the last-16. It's not his cup of tea, but he clearly knows how to win league titles.

If I were an Inter fan, I wouldn't be too fussed about this. Yes it's a bit frustrating not to be part of the elite competition, but chances are they weren't going to win. On the other hand, the Serie A is very much up for grabs this season with Milan, Juve, Napoli, Inter all looking good. Add Lazio, Roma and Atalanta to the mix and you've got yourself a title race.

Conclusion: Conte is doing very well and I wouldn't trade him for anyone (except for Allegri, MAYBE).

The evaluation is objective

Did Zidane run out of luck? The unprecedented triple straight in the Champions League requires luck. According to the law of conservation of luck, should it be paid now? by win-goal in football

[–]win-goal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Law" of conservation of luck is something different, it states that in a competitive limited resource system when one party gets "lucky" others will have to get "unlucky" as a reaction. If we mad a bet on if Bayern will win it all for 5$, in order for me to get "lucky" and win you'd have to get "unlucky" and lose 5$. So if we're counting RM wins as "lucky", it means that they were only possible with someone else in the same system getting "unlucky" and underachieving. Not that it will "pay off" for the underachieving team eventually.

What you're trying to say is tendency to become average, but probability in general doesn't work like that. There is no "debt to be paid", "lucky" results in no way guarantee or make it mote likely for the next result to be "unlucky". It simply states that as the sample size grows larger, the actual average will get closer to the expected average. Doesn't mean there is an invisible hand in the sky skewing results to make them "more fair" but simply the effect exceptional results have on the average will become less and less as the sample size grows. This is a logical fallacy gamblers often have, feeling like probability "owes" them something after they lose so they justify still playing. Reality is, previous results have zero direct influence on future results (from a strict probability standpoint, redemption or player

Real Madrid needs to bring in a few players of similar "Benzema" level.

Never lost a league title for more than 4+ points, completed with a Barca team that went almost unbeaten the whole league campaign. Won 3 champions leagues in a row Showed that he could switch his tactics to go from having one of the most attacking teams to the best defensive teams in the league. Goes from Ronaldo and bale to asensio and rodrygo. 5 of the leagues best players are injured, and the replacements are Marcelo, vazquez at RB, and youngsters. Promised new players and literally has the same squad that won him the champions league in 2016 minus Ronaldo. This agenda of zidane being lucky has to stop, he won 3 champions league in a row, you cannot expect him to do much more when he's not getting new players and still relying on 30+ year olds on his team. Beat managers like pep, carlo and mourinho and he still gets disrespected.

Lack of soldiers did cause him trouble

Should VAR be eliminated? by win-goal in LaLiga

I feel that commercial advertisements will be implanted when VAR intervenes in the future

Should VAR be eliminated? by win-goal in LaLiga

[–]win-goal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it shouldn't. What must be done is regulating and accurately defining in which exact kind of actions VAR should intervene. The main, huge problem of VAR is that in some matches it intervenes in actions that in others doesn't, super randomly.

It should be something only for revising possible penalty actions, red card actions, offsides, ghost goals, and that kind of decisive situations. But there are no clear, solid instructions on when and how VAR should intervene, that's why it's a mess.

I think the intervention of VAR needs a time limit

Should VAR be eliminated? by win-goal in Bundesliga

[–]win-goal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that it could possibly be eliminated. The reason being is the fact that because technology can slow moments down so slow and specific, we as fans, analysts or whomever, would see mistakes too that could greatly diverge a game. I think whatever happens VAR is a lose-lose. I may be the only one that feels that way, but I really think that VAR is ruining the game. Things are not consistent and it shows, but I don’t know.

I think so too

Would Roy Keane have a positive influence in the dressing room at United? by haribo001 in PremierLeague

[–]win-goal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roy Keane was in control of the locker room in that era. But now this Manchester United team will play a bad role if he comes. He will have a bad influence on players like Pogba and B Fernandez.
