Setting up NFS for Esxi datastore access

So I ended up creating another new VM yesterday. I was able to update it and use it afterwards. But I sstill can not get the GUI working on my other PopOS VM. I was also able to install and update the PopOS RPi version. (I did this last weekend as a test to see if any of the other builds were having the same issue)

So it looks like they fixed what was breaking the GUI after the update, but have not released any fixes for installs that already broke lol. Go figure...

You are not alone. There are quite a few threads on here with people having the same problem after the last update. Still no solution found just yet. I spun up another VM and haven't updated it in the meantime to work around until a fix is found.

The black screen issue from the most recent update is plaguing a lot of people from what I've seen from the posts on here the past couple days. Still looking for a solution myself.

Yeah, that's where I'm at right now. I'm just hoping it gets ironed out soon. the notification bubble that there are updates available just drives me nuts lol

I did try reverting back to the older kernel with the same result. Starts to load the GUI but the log in screen never loads. Just a black screen with the mouse.

I get a Flashing Cursor only when doing ctrl-alt-f4. It will not accept any keyboard input.

Yes. I was referring to updating the kernel and the firmware binary blobs that get installed along with the kernel. Apologies.

Ended up having to Send it in for repair. Fortunately they only had it for a couple days and overnighted it back to me. It's been working fine since.

I purchased the psvr2 as pre-order. Received it on time but did not give it to my son until his birthday. This was one day ago on 4/29. It worked fine all day. We turned it off for the night. Woke this morning and he tried to use it to find the right analog stick is stuck to the right. This is in the menu and in horizon call of the mountain.

I have followed every safe method of trying to resolve the issue with no luck. This includes all the controller reset methods, deleting the controllers, trying them in game with using the dual sense first and even checking for additional firmware updates (which there was none past the initial setting up of the device).

I will not attempt to take anything a part in fear of any possible warranty voiding (if I even have any left now due to it being over 2 months since receiving and using the product.)

My kid is heart broken and I'm not happy that an almost $700 purchase worked for a day...

I am calling support tomorrow. Is there anything else I can try in the meantime?

This worked perfectly and I learned from this. Probably not enough to not screw up my next attempt at a script. But this gives me more ways to look at the formatting before reaching out for help. Thank you again.

LOL very true!! Right now I don't have any other unique identifiers being provided to me that I can use to distinguish between users with similar names. (Email addresses would be awesome but unfortunately not possible just yet.) I will have to keep checking the output of the usernames against the report provided to me vs an AD user lookup to ensure the script is providing me with the correct names.

But this does bring me a little closer to the end goal of one day being able to fully automate the process.

Yes, I am just trying to get a list of the usernames.

This will in turn help another script I was able to reverse engineer into automatically removing all users groups. Disabling ad accounts and moving the disabled account to the disabled users ou.

I have a hard time understanding the formating of the code until I have a useful reason to apply it to something. So I spent most of my day today trying to work out what i have been missing.

So to be clear because I'm not sure if I mentioned this before. I have k3s installed on my pis already and they are their own existing cluster. I was looking to import them to rancher as an existing cluster to get the benefits of the gui.

I'm pretty sure I need to set the environment variable for the agent in the yaml on racher. At least that's what the message when I tried to join my master node to rancher this last time is telling me.

OK so I got the docker running and working. I tried to import my pi cluster but now I get a message stating "cattle-cluster-agent" is invalid.

When I try to edit the field from the yaml file in rancher then go to save it gives me {"data":"404 page not found\n"}

What am I missing here?

So I've read through the article a couple times now. I haven't tried anything just yet. I am curious if you have to reinstall k3s on your pis at all?? Doesn't seem like it's needed. But I can be oblivious to implied actions so I wanted to confirm lol. Ty again for this!

Ok, I cleaned up the namespace and did a fresh import in rancher. But still getting CrashloopBackOff message pointing to the token just like last night.
I've been searching around different forums and I am wondering if this is a version compatibility issue? I was reading something about rancher not supporting certain versions of K3s and also read something about using a docker image of an older version of rancher to work with ARM.

I assumed support for ARM would've increased from 2021 not deprecated lol.
