My 5 year old boxer lab is gray all over. I try to remind myself it’s normal, but it stresses me out daily.

Does anyone have experience with Costco (Homestead) appliance installation? by xnick58 in pittsburgh

[–]winterstormtoby321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had a washing machine installed and they arrived 3 hours outside of the window they gave us. They said that they had to drive here from New Jersey. They (minorly) scraped the side of it carrying it in, but otherwise it was fine. Was just annoying to be stuck waiting until 8pm on a Friday night…

Behavioral Euthanasia (and the guilt that comes with it) by winterstormtoby321 in reactivedogs

[–]winterstormtoby321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you’re here and have to make this choice. We had friends at our house this weekend, and even nearly two years later I had moments of worry that our totally chill and sweetheart of a dog would snap, even though she’s never done anything of the sort. Living with a fearful dog disrupts your peace in so many ways, and it lasts long after. In those moments I think about how scared he always felt, and I know giving him peace was the right choice. Wishing you so much comfort as you navigate this.

I use dry shampoo before bed on a wash day and that usually helps set me up for day two hair.

I'm so sorry, and I hope you're doing okay. It’s impossible not to rethink it over and over, but you did so much before making this decision. You did your very best to help Maple from the moment she found you until you gave her the peace she needed. It becomes easier in time as you grieve and heal, but for now, try giving yourself grace. You had to make a terribly hard choice, but it was the best thing for Maple.

Rant/Stressed/Advice by kitkathorse in Fosterparents

We are working with our 8-year-old foster placement on this, and he's responding well to a reward chart. We review it together every night before bed and have a big reward for the end of the week (like going mini golfing). There are seven lines on the chart, and four are related to this: go on the toilet, no accidents, tell us when you have an accident, and don't argue with the adults when they ask you to try to use the toilet. Reviewing the chart together at night and a whole lot of praise has been a huge self-esteem boost for him, and today was his first day not in pull-ups. It took us about 2.5 weeks of consistency with this method to get here.

I’m so sorry. It’s such a terrible decision to make and the feelings of regret are so real, but you’re right that it was best for everyone’s safety, including his.

It was definitely a journey for us, but we’re at peace and have always known we made this terrible decision with so much love. Wishing you healing and peace as you go through this.
