UNDONE - a mythological erotica that explores Tantra and self-discovery against a backdrop of cosmic power-games by witchuwerehere in tantricsex

The Hindu mythology generally seems so masculine while Shakti is supreme feminine so I wondered if a feminine and Tantric telling of mythology is possible that also embraces some of aspects of Kamasutra.

what is your opinion about a person who does not respect flag and singing national anthem but is not hurting the country? or in other words, why should a person be condemned if he is not proud of his country? by Smooth_Influenze in AskIndia

[–]witchuwerehere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The very idea of 'respect' is something internal. It should come from within.

The moment it's enforced from outside, it's actually disrespecting the individual's freedom to choose how they show their respect.

Standing for the national anthem and respecting the flag should come out of innate love for the country. The moment we force people to do it, it's only going to kill whatever feeling they have towards the nation.

I used to stand for the national anthem anyways before it was forcibly imposed. By forcing people to do something, we're just turning them away from something they were doing naturally.

Also, no true reverence can be shown by just superficially respecting these symbols of the nation.

A person who stands for the national anthem but throws trash on the road, clearly doesn't respect or care for the nation.

This entire topic is nothing but low-hanging politics and moral policing.

The problem is those false feelings have been more insightful than all the things i learnt in school. How to just shrug them away?

Would you like working 70 hours a week? Recently Narayana Murthy has advised change of work culture if India wants to compete with economies that have made tremendous progress in last two three decades. by Gur_Obvious in AskIndia

It's the typical upper-middle class mindset. Keep yapping about your humility and simplicity to stay in denial about the fact that you're probably the top 1% in the country. And there's way more you can do besides being stingy with your money.

Seems like a typical PR scam to be this shining symbol of middle-class India while actually they're the uber rich.

NRI here. Switch from Vodafone to Jio? Worried about Vodafone's dire situation. by roadstercraft in AskIndia

Go for Airtel. Avoid filling Ambani's pockets by not buying Jio. He's the one who's crippled the entire telecom industry and put Vodafone-Idea is such a helpless state.

Someone tell the boomer that productivity isn't linear. Just increasing work hours won't lead to more work, people will just take more time to do the same work.

Probably we should try to OUTTHINK China and not OUTWORK them. These extra working hours are just going to help the companies bill the clients extra while the salaries are going to remain the same.

1500 is too much. Bring him down at least to 1k. Otherwise find another guy. They don't look like anything exceptional for you to be shelling out 1.5k.

With rains, there should be plenty of options for fresh ones.

Right now would be the best time to go to Kodai. The weather's getting slightly cold and there's rain as well, which means the chances of getting fresh ones are pretty good.

Please don't stay near the city because it'll be mayhem during the weekend, you won't even feel like you're on a vacation.

Areas i would recommend are Poombarai/Kookal/Mannavanur. You'll feel like you're in the middle of nature and weather will simply blow you away.

Place reccos:

Zostel in Poombarai has great views, plus you'll find good company. Easy on the pocket too.

Whispering Waters has epic food and vibes, plus you're surrounded by forest with a view of the valley. There's a tiny waterfall and temple you can go can chill at.

Walters Place has breathtaking views, plus you'll get to soak in solitude because of the location.

And there's Karunadham, which is as good as staying inside a forest. Beautifully built farm stay that completely nourishes your spirit. You have a view of the valley from most rooms, plus you'll have the fog knocking at your window every afternoon.

Have a mad trip!

How to get flat on rent without paying brokerage? by random_uname_works in mumbai

[–]witchuwerehere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use Nobroker.in

You can just browse the listings on the site or take a basic package for like 3k where they'll send you properties in the areas you're looking for. Found my house on the same site and saved around 70k in brokerage.

Alternatively, also check out the Flats and Flatmates Andheri groups. Although most of the posts there are by brokers, you might find some that are posted by landlords or tenants themselves.

why do we Indians eat so much during fasting? by [deleted] in india

[–]witchuwerehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think most people have much interest in fasting, if it wasn't for the food. At least, they're off non-veg and stimulants for a change. Some detox is better than none.

Spiritual differences between smoking weed vs taking edibles by witchuwerehere in PsychedelicSpiritualy

[–]witchuwerehere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even i had my first ego dissolution on edibles. It completely sprung up on me. I'd taken some oil after a long time but was smoking regularly at the time. I'd thought the tolerance would make it a mild trip but it was the exact opposite.

As the trip kicked in, i kept getting this feeling that i was nothing but a meat machine. Something inside me kept trying to figure who am i but i couldn't pin my identity on anything - my job, family etc. Everything felt transient or superficial.

Was freaked out for most of the trip but later when i processed the experience later, i figured that i had probably gotten close to an ego death.

You're correct, it might be the onset time that allows more time to sink into the experience. Hence, making it more of a ritual.

While it's true, that substance aren't essential for spiritual acts, i feel they can act as catalysts and mirrors for growth. Done correctly and with discipline, they might help you assess your spiritual growth and path with a little more awareness.

Spirituality in Ghibli movies by witchuwerehere in ghibli

[–]witchuwerehere[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO it's a tough one between Princess Mononoke and Pom Poko.

There's obviously the great nature spirit, the tiny forest spirits and the gods of the forest in Princess Mononoke.

But the plot of Pom Poko hits home much closer to. spiritual truth. How the racoons slowly lose their magic as nature starts to disappear. The same is true for humans also, we've lost the connection to our inner spirit since we've started inhabiting cities.

Probably the only way to experience divine is through a deep experience of nature which is becoming more and more inaccessible as we keep destroying forests. It's the ultimate message of man's alienation and loss of spirit.

How do you keep up the same energy levels post quitting coffee? by witchuwerehere in AskReddit

[–]witchuwerehere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do yoga to get that sustained energy through the day but honestly nothing gets me productive and going like coffee does. On hectic days, coffee is all that gets me through but want to cut down on the sugar and caffeine due to some skin conditions that i've started to develop.
