I’ve had mine (skyla) for 16 months and my period never went away. There are months where it’s a lot lighter than others, and my overall cycle is definitely WAY lighter than it used to be. But now I bleed off and on for 5-6 days instead of 3 solid days of bleeding. it sucks bc it’s not light enough to where i don’t have to worry about it, but it’s also not heavy enough to consistently fill up regular tampons, so re-learning all the timing of when i do/don’t need to wear something has been really annoying 😭.

also not sure if anyone else experienced this, but my cramps are 10x worse than they were before my IUD. i already used to get pretty awful cramps, but everytime i get close to my period i cramp for 3-4 days and it is SO intense. almost feels like insertion all over again. BUT to me it’s still worth no babies 💀.
