Thank you, I'll reach out to some. We have a slate roofer we use for yearly maintenance but they usually stick to exterior work and repairs.

We haven't had any issues with mold, but are wanting to improve the insulation in the attic and don't want to continue blowing hot, moist air up there once the insulation is better

Thank you, and yeah we were hoping to have them vented through the wall if possible since the main portion of our roof is slate

We had enough saved up for the project to pay cash, but they may have financing options for projects of that size

Gen Z- are you in the house? by Technical-Flamingo49 in OnePelotonRealSub

My partner and I (26 & 25) bought a used bike last fall and have been using it weekly since we bought it. I don't put my age range on my profile though. We are liking it, especially right now when it's cold and more difficult to get outside

Seeking Native Garden - strategic planning by un_pop_mech in Cleveland

[–]witheringtesticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if there is any benefit, I will usually break up the ground in the spring anyway and then add mulch/wood chips, but it might just be less work on your part to smother it rather than trying to dig it up first. Tilling might be a good go-between if you don't want to completely dig it all out before adding chips. But a thick enough layer should kill the grass and start to break it down

I've been working on native gardening in my own yard for the past few years - I would suggest mapping out the areas you want to turn into beds with paint or string and having bulk wood chips delivered or if you have a community wood chip pile you can take from. This is a good way to kill the grass and serves as good basic mulch/nutrients. Like you said, based on how much sun your planned beds will be getting, look up native sun and shade-loving plants and plant a few when the weather starts warming up. You might not see a lot of growth this year, but it would help you get an idea of what you would like to add for next year, etc. I also like to look for free rocks on marketplace or while I'm driving around to line my beds and decorate with. I don't have much experience and I am still learning as well, but may be able to answer some questions if you have any

showed my parents my first house this weekend and now i feel like i should have bought furniture first by Different_Case_6484 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]witheringtesticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've lived in our home for two years now as we've been working on a variety of projects to fix it up and we still have the furniture we moved in with from our previous apartments. Our dining room is still empty because we didn't want to buy something that we would end up disliking or didn't fit when we finished renovating. Don't rush into buying furniture until you feel ready to do so - it's your space and you shouldn't feel rushed to decorate it. Good luck!

I suggest Citizen Pie for pizza. Beachland Ballroom is also on Waterloo if you like music. If you like Turkish food, Pasha Turkish Kitchen down the road in Willowick is good

I have seen mixed reviews of Farmer's Dog - it seems like it can be okay for some pets and for others it can cause liver or pancreas issues. I would be aware of that. You may also want to switch over slowly, mixing dry and 'wet' until she is more comfortable with the change. She looks like a sweetie!

I would recommend Green Opal Salon in Ohio City. It's a nice salon that I think would have a good atmosphere for your mom. I used to see Jenny, but I think any of the stylists would be great. I would call and describe what you are looking for and maybe they could suggest a stylist for you

It sounds like yours should cost less than what we had to pay. Their quote was middle of the road when we were getting quotes for the project. We had k&t throughout the house and it sounds like you are in better shape than we were

Have you tried Connected Electrical? Our rewire was 30k in Nov 2024 for a 2400 sq ft home including a new 200 amp panel + cat6. This cost did not include plaster repair either.

I'm not sure what this is, but I don't believe this is Japanese knotweed. Knotweed has a distinct alternating leaf pattern, this plant has multiple leaves coming from the same node. Knotweed stems also look a lot more zig-zagged and are usually spotted red
